P25 Won't Start

I left my Satellite P25 running without AC and while I was away it ran out of battery power and turned itself off. I have restored AC (and recharged the battery) but when I push the on button it lights up, the fan turns on, and the HD LED lights up for less than a second and then nothing but a black screen as if it is in stand by.

I have tried holding the backspace key while starting and I have tried removing the battery, unplugging and holding the on button for 10 seconds; neither solved the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Remove AC power, remove battery, wait ten seconds... Put battery back, restore AC power, push power button and see if it will work. Also try to close / open the screen. There's a little switch under it that can get stuck once in a while...

Hope it works...

If it still wont boot, then check the HD and make sure it's seated properly and check your memory modules as well. Could also be a HD failure or mainboard failure. Are you able to get into the BIOS? Can you boot to the recovery DVD?

I am not able to get into BIOS. I do not have a revovery DVD but attempt to use a bootable XP CD and it did not boot. I have come to the conclusion that it is probably hardware related and have reluctantly dropped it off at the service center.

Thanks for your input.
