Interesting... I will have to check my email when I get home and ask next time I call... When did you order it to get a Jan 4th SHip date... Mine has not started production yet so thats a 7 day process plus I live in California and I am told thats another 5-7 day wait ugh....

I odered the 7700 on 11/21. On the AW website, the estimated date was 12/28. I actually got to phase 14 on 12/28, but it won't physically be at my house until 1/4/05. I odered my ram on 12/29, so hopefully they'll both be delieved at about the same time. I'm from Cali too, I don't know if that makes a difference.

How long after ordering your 'puter, did it take to get the invoice? I had a fire and my last computer melted...literally. I have to send the receipt for my new 'puter to the insurance company to get reimbursed for the depreciation of my last 'puter which was about $1000. I paid for the 'puter in one lump sum by wire transfer. Just curious how long it takes to get an invoice and such? 'Cause I'd like that $1000 back

you're supposed to get an Order Confirmation of all the things that you have bought. Then you get another copy when the package is delievered to you.

Okay, I have the order confirmation. Do you get a special invoice that shows you actually paid for the system or do you have to wait for the system to actually be delivered before you get that?

i think the order confirmation should prove that you actually paid for it. My order confirmation has the total of everything that i paid for. If you didn't pay for it, they would not have sent you the order confirmation if you didn't pay for anything

But when I look at my order processing thing, it still shows me on Step 2 which is Processing payment. I have an order confirmation that shows I placed the order, but they haven't finished processing my payment. I paid it in one lump sum by by wire transfer. I need something that shows they have received payment to get my moolah back from the insurance company. I haven't received anything like that from AW yet.

You get the "Official" invoice in the Alienware binder when you receive the machine.

If they have a large enough case, I'll go back and place an order for it.

According the the AW website:

Dimensions for 7700:

15.6"L x 11.7"W x 1.95"H

Backpack fits notebooks up to:

15.5"L x 10.5"W x 2.5"H

Large armour care fits notebooks up to:

16.25"L x 12"W x 1.75"H

Have they come out with a different backpack that they haven't yet listed on their site? Because according to the dimensions they give for the laptop and those cases, the cases are short in one or more of the dimensions. I did notice someone say that they ordered an XL backpack, but I saw no mention of an XL backpack on the AW site. They only listed one size for the backpack. Does anyone have any information about a packpack large enough to house the 7700? And if they have it, why haven't they put it on their site?

In the time of Loong waiting for the new ATI display card and the complete system will be available for the Sager 9860, i spend long time loocking for a good carrying case for this this BIG comptuer, So for the BagPack I think the Samsonite (Executive Backpack) is good and you will like, for other choices you can check theses sites

EBags, LuggageBase, brenthave.

The best brands i found are, Mezzi, High Sierra, KENNETH COLE, McKlein R-Series, Shaun Jackson (With its strange design), Also thesre is the amazing Zero Halliburton which is the best and you never go rong with it BUT..... unfortiontly don't fit this computer

All theses brands support the Sager 9860 size whic is the same as AW 7700. don't wast your time to look for any others. I got these after ONE week of searching

For me i hope i could get the Aw Alumenium for the Sager but unfortiontly don't fit it also. and hope they make a bigger one. for know i choose the KENNETH COLE alumenium one.

........ Finnaly hope that help...

I picked up a Mezzi off eBay a few years back...pretty cheap stuff. But of course it only set me back $40 or so.

The Haliburton, as the previous poster mentioned, is really the best one out there...but it's going to set you back a few hundred bills.

How did you find the Mezzi Mr. Craig, where some people tell that its cool (Just its shape) , where i think its not a rich, also is there a place on it to put the battery beside the computer or i have to but else where .... or there is no place for it at all . also i want to mention that Hailburton not only you have to pay a lot for it but it also the biggest one of it don't fit this size of the computer.

I used it for the laptop my company provides me with which is much smaller and could for the power supply and the laptop. You'd never get an A51m in the Mezzi I have...its much to small.

I'm sure they make larger ones, I'm just not familiar with them. Head over to eBay and type "mezzi" into the search engine...you'll find lots of people wholesaling them who may be able to get you a larger one.

Humm Intersting I just checked my Email, it does not tell me the brand of RAM and I ordered it on 11/21 too, but got a day earlier ship date but I am still in Phase 8? weird how they work, Something else to bring up when I call tomorrow. UGH!!! Oh well I'm sure I will get it in 2 weeks. Haa

AW Backpack is nice and My 7700 fits. (the rubber grips); They do just that and there hard to slide in the sleeve. The upper corners do stick out a bit, but the pack will zip easilly enough. I might try a anti static bag over the grips and that should help. Very nice pack. well made and looks damn cool.

First, with a purchase this expensive, you should definitely do with one of the extended warranties. At least, two years but the three year is the best...especially if you're planning on having the 'puter a few years. If you go with the three-year warranty, go with the combo because it's a better than the three-year alone considering it comes with both AlienAutopsy and Respawn included.

Also, you might want to look at upgrading to one of the higher processors especially if your planning on using the system for gaming(and why would you be buying this computer if you don't game?). Everything else looks okay for the initial purpose since it's all easily upgradeable in the future.

Is it the regular backpack or the XL? I ordered the XL I hope the did not do the bait and switch on that like they did my RAM

Dizzo I'm really not sure if it is the xlg. It was the only one they showed in the AW gear. I remember the one they had with the 7700 (config)and then they removed it when I ordered. So I sent for this one and thought if it didn't fit I'll send it back. I'm going to call in the morning and see if there is more than one size and which 1 I have. Thanks Stu
