I'm not sure if and when a 3.8 processor will be available. The TV tuner is not available at this time, but the bluetooth is.

I talked with support...

AW: Hi, my name is AW. How may I help you?
You: Hello! Well, will a 3.8 processor be available for the 7700?
You: Also, does it come with a bluetooth option and a tv tuner? Finally, r u going to eventually introduce the WUXGA screen for it? Thank You!
AW: There has been no word if or when the 3.8 will be available for the 7700
AW: No it does not come with neither, there are no plans to introduce a new screen

What the hell was he talking about! NO BLUETOOTH, or TV TUNER???

I don't care about the screen, but bluetooth and TV tuner is a must? Does he know what he's talking about? A 3.8 processor must be avilable if it's exactly like the Sager. I love the alienware design, but Sager has all the missing options, including introducing the WUXGA screen.

the tv tuner with the 7700 is a little unclear.
I read a post from Juan saying that it will be available in the future for upgrade.

So, IMO, you have only been waiting a few days for shipping because the computers actually just became available days ago. You should have known ordering in early November that you would be waiting a while for your computer, and if you weren't willing to wait, then you shouldn't have PRE-ORDERED the dang thing. Next time don't pre-order an item if you're not willing to wait
1st, my ship date was December 16th. It was the fact that my order got hung up on phase 13 that aggrevated me, If they'd sent me notification that my machine had shipped (as it did on the 29th) I wouldn't have been disgruntled at all. However, that being said, I still haven't recieved an e-mail telling me my machine shipped, I called yesterday and they told me it hadn't shipped, and today I was told that because it was being sent to an APO (USPS) I wasn't going to get an e-mail because they couldn't give me tracking numbers, but it had shipped. So if I hadn't called again (not a toll free call for me by the way) I still wouldn't know if it shipped. That makes about as much sense to me as using EDO ram in my new laptop. I completely understand that it was a pre-order, but when I saw people who ordered after me already with thier machines while the best I knew mine was still in phase 13, thats frustrating.

Does the TV Tuner work? Have you verified it? As I understood it, the port is supposed to be there, but there's nothing connected to it...

I don't know that that rep was talking about, but according to the place where you get to pick the specs on your computer, they system DOES come with bluetooth. You have the option of either Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter or Belkin Bluetooth PCMICIA card Type II Adapter. So maybe the rep was stupid

I think we are talking about the laptop having bluetooth without adapters

Hey guys, I had a question...

I ordered my laptop with only the DVD writer optical drive. I was assuming that the drive will burn both dvd's and cd-r media, however after reading the website this morning it's a little ambiguous. Will I need the other optical drive to burn cd-r media? Thanks.

Sure, the AW logo looks cool, but that's not why I'm buying it Anyone who buys a computer based on the logo is an idiot. I'm buying because my brother-in-law has an AW desktop and I love playing on it. Great performance, no problems whatsoever, good customer support if you do have problems. That's what I based my decision on.

The color and design of the rubberf etc is just amazing and worth the difference to me.

It's OK for games but the highest video card avialable is the 9700. There are better gaming machines on the market with newer video cards. Is the 17" screen too big for you?

hm

yeah my only concern is that if i get a 17, why not just get a desktop instead? the reason i wanted a notebook is for protability, i guess i dont travel that much, and just to an occasional lan party - but still. Also, what about user upgradeable graphics on the 5500, cant i just put the 256 megs ati in it and replace the 128? and what is your guys position on nvidia or ati cards?
