One goal for looking at the 8887 is the coax input and its use for cable jacks and even possibly a rabbit ear set. I do a fair amount of traveling and when staying with family I find myself without a TV in my room. Just for complete thrill i compared my build of one of the dual bay model of sager with 128mb video to the 8887 and found after my build it was only a mere 150 dollar difference or so. If i wanted to travel and hook up anything from a TV to a PS2 into my laptop...how does it perform???- Also, since this model does come with options for a removable mp3 player, any thoughts on the performance of this unit?
Lastly, the bulk use of this laptop will be for work, and music, incl dvds. Everyone likes to have their fun sometimes, so what about running games like Unreal Tournement that can be fairly taxing on a system? For what i use these for, the difference between the 8887 and the dual drive model below it with the 128mb video ( forgot the number ) is fairly limited... I see the coax, the mp3 player...that seems to be about all of it for me. The main idea is seeing how well these items perform. My main concern is gettin atleast the 2.4 GHz model with a DVD/CDRW combo and CDROM drive seperate using dual bays ,and getting the spare battery for watching a dvd on a plane. The coax is just a extra that seems like i might find some random use for, and the mp3 player id get just because i hear it kinda looks like a sad empty hole with flapping doors if its not in the side of the laptop.
