Would like to see an apples with apples comparison when the faster GeForce Go 6800 chips come out (running say 450/400MHz instead of the stock 250-300/300MHz), it'd also be interesting to see how close an overclocked 9860 (like mine) comes to the M28 scores listed when compared with the same test settings - I think they'd be pretty close. I also believe that drivers can have an enormous impact on individual benchmark outcomes with some games favouring particular chipsets/drivers quite noteably.

By the way, sorry for my mis-quote of my max GPU core in the other thread - should've read 365MHz.

I upgraded from an 8790 through ITC (IT Channel) in Perth who are the main distributor for Clevo (sager) in Australasia, they on-sell to retail vendors such as P4-Laptops (www.p4laptops.com.au) who I bought the 8790 through (the best retail vendor I know of in Australasia). If you were to buy the 9860 (same spec as mine) - 3.6GHz, 2x80GB SATA, 2GB DDR2-533 RAM, Internal Bluetooth, Wireless-G Turbo and TV Tuner from P4 Laptops it'd cost you about $6500 Australian dollars - but I'd ask them for a quote because this figure is an estimate (they don't show 2GB RAM as an option on their website).

I'm a Kiwi too by the way - from New Plymouth originally, where r you from cuz'.

You can use the NVIDIA Driver Control Panel to overclock after you've installed the "Coolbits 2" hack which unlocks the extra features that NVidia have hidden by default, it's available here... http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=815

I use Powerstrip cuz I like the ability to switch performance profiles with a couple mouse clicks. Can you do that will Coolbits?
Not with coolbits as such, the latest NVidia Forceware (v7x.x) does have an applet though that appears as an icon in the notification area of the taskbar giving you similar (and other) functionality to the Powerstrip applet.

thanks, andre. i'm using the 71.20 drivers too and hadn't thought of that.

Anyone know if you can OC the CPU in the 9860 (or the 8790)
Not to my knowledge, I've tried different software tools in the past but they're usually motherboard specific and only work with certain manufacturers/models - no one's ever written anything for a Clevo/Sager notebook AFAIK. Hardware wise - I believe it's BIOS controlled not jumper controlled and the BIOS is locked down such that you can't access any advanced features through the BIOS setup. Not sure if there's any way to unlock and overclock the CPU chip itself (sometimes this is possible with certain CPUs and the use of a soldering iron or some other implement).

I see that this is now only offered with the X800. Will the performance numbers go up aswell. I would like to break 10,000 with 3dMark03. What level will this run EQ2 on. My Qosmio G15 would only run it balanced, and not even that in busy cities.

Thanks
Lonzo
