Ordered on Nov 5th and it FINALLY shipped!

Woot woot, can't wait.

Ordered on 11/05 too, WHY mine is still "in production"???
I ordered mine on 11/25 and I just got an email today saying it has been shipped. The web site is not updated yet, still says it's in production. Shipping 12/17. I told the installation company that I can install it my self and cancel the installation. Now I am waiting to see if Dell will credit me automatically or will I have to call them. I would say I will have to call them.

Received and installed. Installation took about 15 minutes. No problems at all. The performance is visible from the 9700. I'm glad I made the purchase.

Received mine today. Install took about a half an hour, I really took my time and read everything twice. Turned my 9100 on, it came up with a generic VGA driver. Installed the 9800 driver, rebooted and

VOILA!!!!

Inspiron 9100 w/256MB MR9800!

Now comes the tweaking.

-Bob
PS - Anyone wanna buy a 128MB MR9700? It's barely used.

I ordered mine on 11/22 and got an email yesterday, 12/6 that the card has shipped; approx 9 days early. Online status stills shows in production like others. I cant wait until I receive it. I will try to get some 3dmark03 scores on my laptop once I receive it. Currently has 64MB 9700 so I am hoping for a good increase!

Still need to get a 60 gig 7200 8MB hard drive as well so I hope to compose an approximate performance increase for each uprgrade I do.

mmackenny, do it yourself...it really is very very simple and painless

for a half hour of your own time you will save around $90 in the install fee

Do you have a link on what I would need to do to install it?
On another note those just receiving the MR9800 and installing it themselves, while you have the video card out would be a good time to put Artic Silver 5 on the CPU. This is my plan should help a couple of degrees from other posters.

For those that have installed the MR9800 is it possible to put AS5 on the GPU as well?

It's in the FAQ's in the dell xps/9100 forum

in any case, here's the link: http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/system...deo.htm#1006368

it is very simple, all you need is a screwdriver. besides, i'm sure you'll be a lot more gentle with your machine than some tech, also some of those dell certified techs i hear, their training is "on the job" with your machine and at your expense so it's like rolling dice with them, you might get a good one, or you might get a crappy one. By doing it yourself, you can be EXTRA careful, and on top of it all, save yourself around $90 in the install fee

Mine was shipped yesterday too. I see people who ordered by 22nd of last month are also getting the card, so that means Dell WAS waiting for a big shipment or something.

Anyway, I'm glad that there's a God somewhere and He has finally listened to my prayers

'God' ? What? what? what? where? where? where?

I ordered mine on Nov 5 and still WAITING...

Woot! Got mine today. Installation was a snap and the Arctic Silver 5 that I put on the CPU has helped the temp a bit too. I guess I better go play half-life 2 and see how it works.

Ehsieh...I think it is time you called and talking to customer service and determine why yours hasnt shipped. Tell them you are unhappy about the shipping delay, they may give you a customer satisfaction coupon and get your order moving.

Got mine today. 3dmark03 7200. Not bad from a 3100 baseline with my 9700 Dell nailed the shipping date estimate of Dec 08th perfectly for me.

Got a delay notice from Dell (ordered on Nov 5 ). Called customer support, she said she has to contact with manufacturer. She won't answer why my order got delayed.
