what is the difference. does it make that big of a difference when it comes to games like doom3, far cry, unreal, hl2, ect. would you save on the screen and build a better lappy or upgrade the screen. I will be ordering later today or tommorow and im leaning towards the new pci laptop. thanks for the advice, ryan

I think its stupid that alienware offers that crappy screen. On a 17 inch widescreen, i'd want 1680x1050 MINIMUM. In fact, I don't see why they can't have a higher resolution. Dell puts a 1920x1200 screen on the XPS and thats only a 15 inch widescreen.

Go with the better screen, the faster computer is useless unless you can see everything displayed correctly. Thats why I always laugh at the retards that buy a fast computer and use a 100 dollar piece of junk monitor.

iamblueman4 I believe you are complaining about the Alienware's screen in many threads, but I think it does provide 17" screen with 1680x1050 screen resolution.

I know they offer the 1680x1050, i'm just saying that I would get not get the lower resolution one.
