i understand, you gotta do what you gotta do. yeah desktops are the way to go for me right now. i have a dell, 1.6 pentium 4m, 256 ram, nvidia go 2, it sucks for games. i have been using my 1.2 pent 4 ,512 meg, ati 64 meg vid card for games. i cant wait for the aurora king. i have not benchmarked a computer before but i will learn. i dont put to much faith in their readings, i would rather just use the comp and play games and gauge from that. it would be interesting to see our stats compared. what are your full specs. laters ryan

right on looks good. took a while to understand the german but i got it.
i think if i was to benchmark my laptop it would tell me to buy another computer. 3dmark05 - ~4
post #24 of 58
Hmm somewhat similar to your rig, except your outstanding cool cpu... which is also the reason for me asking this benchmark thing.
Just want to know, if i made a mistake in saving some money here
I will have to get a screen the next days, and don't know what to buy at all... otherwise the alien will arive, and i will not have one yet.
horrible imagination

still phase 4 - which sucks , really want to know what they did @ alienware last two working days.....

yeah it would be interesting to see what goes on during the working days. i would imagine they have a ton of orders. they might even be a small company. i think you aurora is perfect. i almost went with the 3500 so i could add more ram. craig talked me out of the more ram issue. i think you will be real happy with the machine. it needs to get here now, today, not tommorow, today. are you listening aw. come on...

things going on slowly...

Phase 5 is only looking, if they have all in stock, what i ordered...
Apart from the fact, that this should already happen just when i order, it seems completely strange to mee, that this should take a whole day...

I run a pharmacy here in germany and have only 7 employees, end even I am able to see on my computer what I have on stock within one second

My Theory:

All the phases just do not exist at all. They are just invented by alienware to have something to tell their customers.
It is all about:
"Look we are heavily working on your system, completing it step by step, a little bit every day."

Reality:

They have their orders coming in, completing systems etc... And then, when it is your system to be made, they just complete it on one afternoon and ship it few hours later...
That is the absolute truth...oh and by the way Mr. Pharmicist...i think i need to be medicated due to "Phase Stress Disorder"...can you send me up some thorazine and its pretty painfull to better send some oxycontin too. Thanks in Advance

Thank you very much for your order.
We work hard to satisfy every single need of our highly appreciated customers.

start a chemical synthesis of your ordered drugs

yeah no kidding. i hope its not a 14 step program for the narcotics. i need an aurora patch, do you have one?
<------- needs an aurora patch himself

hmm the new 890pro motherboard is arriving these days... what shall we do?
cancel and try a new order past christmas ?

i guess they would never be able to ship my system the 29. nov like they promised... i do not want to spend 2300 Euros on a system which i will recieve somwewhere late december..... with technology in it which was up to date early november

Ok i just phoned them, and i guess i have some good news for you alienrex:

They had several delays with the 6800 graphics cards, but recieved them this monday. So at the moment they have to complete a lot of systems with that video card which should be done this week. I think your system should be one of those they are working on right now.
My System will be build monday next week and should arrive at my house on friday next week (so 5 days delay).
I hope that the guy from aw on the phone told the truth...
If he did, things should be ok for me so far

Jadawin, who will not look at these goddamn phases anymore just until week end

i dont want to hear about it.

ok. ok. what is the 890 pro all about. i have not heard anything. thanks for the aw update, i thought they would be closed for thanksgiving so i did not call. i will call today. talk with you later. ryan

It is the new socket 939 motherboard chipset from via (800pro ---> 890pro // nvidia: nforce3 ---> nforce4 ), which features pci xpress graphics and sli...

I decided not to need that, because i usually buy new machines every 18 - 24 months (it lowers taxes for me). So i will never upgrade my aurora anyway, and i think the x800xt should be enough powerful to handle the next applications i want to run. By the way: pci xpress is not any faster than agp at the moment anyway...
I am planning to play World Of Warcraft when it will be released here in Europe, and then, I will not have any time left for any other game, because i have to work a lot also .

Bought a 20,1'' BenQ 16 ms response time tft display today (uses the same panel the dell uses, but is much more beautiful)
Now it is time for my alien to arrive

lol, i have just seen, that this display is also offered as an "alienware" - display, but they even did not remove the BenQ logo on it

phase 5 bro, booo ya! im catching up. yeah i dont need anythiing more than what the aurora offers right now. i game and do 3d graphic stuff but nothing to extreme. its just an all around good comp for me. and yes i work a bunch to, someones got to pick up the trash.

damn you. ok so that means by monday i should be phase 6.
you will get your system before i will get mine anyway
(because i think shipping inside us is faster than shipping to europe)
