Sager 4060: Adding INTERNAL wireless?

Hey,

i just ordered and received 2 4060 and i was wondering if i could just purchase a wireless mini PCI card from PC torque and put it in myself.

I "think" that sager may have forgotten about the wireless, i gotta go double check my order form. I guess thats what you get when you go straight to the source.

Ill be looking forward to some replies thanks.

I think 4060 is USB-wireless so... mini PCI-wireless won't work (if I'm not wrong).

so there is no wireless card in the laptop itself? I have a 8887 with mini pci wireless

So it does have a wireless adapter then?

If I'm not wrong, the USB-wireless is internal, but it's not miniPCI, it has a diferent shape and connector.

Not sure about the 4060, but that is not the same as the 4760 as far as chassis and mobo. The 8887 and the 5660/5670 have miniPC, and the 4760 has miniUSB.

how would i activate this wireless USB, i see the switch and everything, this one confuses me a bit. Maybe because im so use to my 8887 that everything else is different.

the manual said to switch on and off the wirless but nothing has happend yet

Did you get internal wifi as an option? Are the drivers installed? Are you in range of a wifi network?

well when we made our order we ordered it with wifi but upon shipping, we checked the shipping invoice and there was no wireless listed on the invoice. Im not to sure if they put it in or not. But i would think under the device manager would have 2 adapters one for LAN and the wireless.

There is only one adapter in the device manager and that is the LAN.

I downloaded the wireless driver from the sager website and installed the program but there is still no wireless connection.

Would it be possible to buy the mini USB wireless connection for the 4060 instead of having to buy a PCMCIA card.
