250gb 7200rpm western digital hard drives

Hello everyone,
I'm kind of a newb on this forum though I've made several posts in the past. Anyway, I have a couple Western Digital 250gb 7200rpm ide internal hard drives for sale. They are brand new and tested but I threw out the original box. I was in the middle of building a super movie/entertainment computer but I just got a 340$ ticket for parking in a handicapped. Sooooo if you are interested I'd like to get 110$ shipped for each. Thats a little less than the going rate on ebay. I have paypal or I'll accept an MO. I'm an honest guy and you can check my ebay feedback, username -kLpps. 100% positive feedback after 110 transactions. I also have a very good reputation on the camaroz28.com forum board's classified section. You can do a search for kLpps. Anyway, email- kLpps@msn.com if interested. I've been really busy with work lately so I may not respond immediately but I'll try my best. -Phil

$124.99 after rebate @ Outpost

250gb HDDs have been $99 AR or less in the last few weeks...I wouldn't pay anything more than $75 or so for them.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Wasn't tying to be rude, just showing that eBay isn't the only option and stating the facts.

i though 110$ shipped was perfectly fair. 125$ after rebate? first of all you gotta pay tax and you dont pay tax on the 125, you pay tax on the original price whatever that is. Then you gotta wait AT LEAST 3 months to get your money back. i just did a search on completed items on ebay and NONE of these hd's went for less than 110$ and these guys will charge you 10$ for shipping. Pricewatch has em for 127$ shipped. your price of 75$ is a low ball.

i rather wait for good deals after rebates. the 200gb WD drive is going for $50 after rebates at officemax.

i would totally buy it if i didn't hate WD so badly though.

50$ after rebates? www.officemax.com shows 120$ after a 30$ instant rebate and a 30$ mail in rebate. original price is 180$

eh sorry i forgot to mention that it's on black friday.

i don't mean to threadcrap, but 160gb-200gb hard drives can go for as low as $50-$60 after rebates. of course, you gottak now the source where to buy that from. personally, i <3 the seagate 160gb i got for $50 after rebates.

if WD were to sell for a cheap price, i guess i'd buy it... but i have a semi-horror story with this company and their RMA refurbished drives. they also run hotter... and they're pretty loud too.

i am going out of town this weekend so any emails sent i probably wont get until sunday.

afobisme- i called officemax and they have no clue wtf a 50$ western digital hard drive on black friday is. i'm glad you're happy w/ your 50$ seagate hard drive. i remember when Fry's had them on sale and a matter of fact, i bought one and its been almost 3 months and I am still waiting for my rebate check. might i remind you that your hard drive is 160gb and the one im selling is 250? also wtf are you doing buying refurbished hard drives.

alright i really need money for this ticket so im posting some new prices for what i have left

western digital 250gb 7200rpm IDE hard drive, used only in my comp for a few days. practically brand new. doesn't have the tiny jumper thingie that sets it to master/slave cuz i had to use it for my back up hard drive. 100$ shipped.

Hitachi Deskstar 250gb 7200rpm IDE hard drive opened but brand new. i need to keep the box because i have to send in the side panel to get my mail in rebate. 100$ shipped.

i have 2 Iomega 250gb EXTERNAL 7200rpm hard drives, brand new still in manufacturer's original packaging. 175$ shipped each.

yeah 200gb drives is the cutoff, for whatever reason the 250gb ones are quite a bit more expensive than 200gb ones. don't get me wrong though, im not advising people not to buy from you klpps. $110 is not a bad price for a 250gb drive. i just wouldn't buy it (since i know how to bargain shop.. i bet a lot of people here do too... this is probably the wrong outlet for you to sell your parts)

the black friday deal is an unofficial deal, but the sources are very accurate each other. you'll just have to wait and find out come the friday after thanksgiving

oh and im also curious...the external hard drives come with usb 2.0 AND firewire right?

i read the forum rules.. i didn't see anything about "threadcrapping." hotstuff2 wasn't threadcrapping either. threadcrapping is saying something like "your deal sucks, youre asking too much and im not going to post any information that is going to help this thread." instead, hotstuff2 linked a "better" deal for the same drive. although it's not helping the OP, it IS helping the buyer.

and klpps, i don't mean to be rude, but i've learned something in the past month: that it's hard to sell on these tech forums, since us computer nerds know where to get products beyond lower than retail prices. i've tried to sell my computer and no one even cared - you'd have to find a better market than notebookforums. i, for example, went to some gamers forums and posted "fs: my desktop" and have gotten many more responses (because these gamers aren't tech computer nerds.. they just now how to play the game)

i believe the external hd's are usb 2.0 only which is faster than firewire anyway. id have to wait till i get home tonight to make sure.

firewire is faster, and also uses less CPU overhead. it's the newer technology, but it's not as universal as usb...

personally im gonna use my new enclosure with firewire.. and then my dvd burner will be usb 2.0

usb 2.0 is pretty fast though, i transferred about 1.4gb in about 1 minute to my notebook hd. very nice.

if you think firewire is faster than usb 2.0 you don't belong on this board.

he's actually right

USB 2.0 is 480 mb, but that's a burst transfer rate

Firewire is 400 mb, but that's a sustained transfer rate. If you compare the speed of two drives, one using firewire and one using USB 2.0 enclosures, the firewire will have less CPU overhead and a higher sustained transfer rate, which is more important than burst.
