My client has a Dell Inspiron 8500 laptop, and wants to go wireless. I want to add the internal BlueTooth card (part # 2U381) to my Inspiron 8500, and since you can't order that part online, I called Dell Spare Parts to order both of them. The TrueMobile 1450 is normally priced at $59, but Dell Home & EPP have this on sale for auto 15% off, making it $50.15. When I asked the CSR for the price of the TM1450 card, and was told it's $29.95, I told him I'll order it now.

You have to call Dell Spare Parts, since if you order it online it's the full price. Not sure why it's $29.95 through Dell Spare Parts? CSR told me the package would be marked "refurb" but is actually new. Might explain the half price?

This is the best price I've seen on a 802.11a/b/g miniPCI card.
Part # 430-0962

Form Factor: Mini PCI
Compliant Standards: IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g; CCX v2
Connectivity Technology: Wireless
Data Transfer Rate: 802.11a/g: Up to 54 Mbps; 802.11b: Up to 11 Mbps
Device Type: Wireless PCI Card
Max Transfer Rate: 54 Mbps
Authentication Method: WPA, WEP, 802.1x

Call Dell Sparts Parts the same way I did - call 1-800-WWW-Dell (999-3355) and listen to the prompts. i think it's 2,2,4,4 - but I could be wrong.

Also: just an FYI, I ordered the TM1450, the internal BlueTooth card ($24.95), and the cable for it ($4.95). My total order came to $72.05 shipped - barely more than the TM1450 itself on the Dell site. What makes it extra sweet is that my client pays me full price.
