700m graphics - Page 2

Do a search of all the forum, I believe I read some people reporting WoW ran pretty well on the 700m.

I'm interested in Guild Wars actually.

Bah... playing HL2 without shaders is like eating a hamburger without the patty. But I am incredibly suprised by its performance, I don't know any numbers, but I did run battlefield 1942 on it perfectly at 800x600. The speed was so good that I could easily snipe with it, no lag whatsoever.

what about Medal of honor allied assault? thats pretty much the only game I love to play, but I only want to get this laptop if it can handle it good enough. and morrowind also..

Just got WoW and its playable on the 700m, but FPS is low and can get very nasty when locations are busy.

Badtad,
No problems playing Medal of Honor Allied Assault, Breakthrough or Spearhead here. Cant get Pacific Assault to work or the new Men of Valor to work. If anyone knows how, I would appreciate the help.

My 700m has the 1.8 chip, 1g ram, and the 80g hard drive.

Hellfire- if you can get Sims 2 to run on that machine, then no problem with 700m. The 700m beat a P4 2.4 ghz machine with an ATI 7000 16 mb non-integrated card. My friend had such a laptop, and it lagged horribly in bf1942, despite being run at 640x480 (I ran at 800x600), and it was barely playable for him (while I had no problem). Really impressed by the 700m's graphics!

CoD "should" be fine (not on full graphics) - and its awesome man - anyone who liked MohAA will LOVE this - n.b. My Brother is running it on full graphics on his 2.4 P4 desktop with a 128 MB Radeon 9200 SE ($30)

I just got my 700m on xmas eve, and I LOVE it. Ill tell ya all I hear on this forum is " its not a gaming laptop" which is technically true but it does play games really well. Ive been playing Call of Duty NON STOP on my 700m online and single player. Even with several things going on at once it still runs great. More graphic intense games like Half life 2 and doom 3 might now work as well. Got my bluetooth mouse on it for gaming since its impossible with the touchpad.

Also played so far
Hitman 2

im running on
1.6ghz dothan
512mb 1 Dimm
60gb hd

How is video/dvd playback?
As far as I am concerned, I didn't experience any slowdown or poor performance on DVD, DivX and video playback. The widescreen makes the movies look much better than with the standard 4/3 format. The integrated video adapter is definitely not as bad as what some people claim.

Anybody tried playing Dungeon Siege on the 700m? How does it perform?
I have played warcraft 3, Diablo 2, and Halo so far. All worked well at low-mid resolution settings. Playing games does heat this thing up, and drain the batteries pretty quickly, but thats to be expected.

Great info. I was wondering how the 700m handles games, though it does have integrated graphics. Maybe someone could clean this thread up a bit a show which games work at what settings .

1. It dosnt matter what kind of graphics you have for 2D viewing. Anything will work for video playback since there is no 3D rendering going on. Even an old 8mb video card is fine for watching DVD playback. As lon as you're in 2D you never use more than 8mb of video memory.

2. Quit kidding yourselves guys, the 3D graphics on the 700m are a laughable joke.

Just run 3dmark2001se on it. What you get? 2000 tops? LOL.

I get 8000 on my 600m with the 64mb radeon 9000

Has anyone tried Americas Army on it?
you can check out what games will play on it here:
http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/index.htm#mobile

I wasn't sure which graphics card it was, I think it is the second one in the mobile section, but I wasn't completely sure so I didn't direct you to that page. But the link above will send you to a page with all the integrated graphics, choose the one you want more info on, then select "Game Compatibility List". Not all games are listed, but some of the most popular ones are.

the 700m works fine for lots of games that are still entertaining...

if gaming is your main concern then do not get one.

if you want a light powerful computer for a good price and do some gaming in between surfing and watching movies, then the 700m is the shit.
