I've got a 2.0ghz 700m with 1gig of ram. Someone earlier in this thread said medal of honor allied assault played fine on this thing, not true.
I installed it and played it at the very lowest settings, which first of all looked like complete crap.. but big deal I just wanted to play the game. At the lowest resolution (I forget what the numbers were.. but it was quite low) I couldn't play competetively because the text which was supose to be in the upper left hand corner of the screen came out so far it was interfering with game play.. i can't remember now but it may have basically taken up a quarter of the screen or something, in any case it was getting me killed because i couldnt see a portion of the battlefield very well.. so I didn't get to really test the game out at this resolution beyond this problem. So i had to bump up the resolution to the 2nd lowest to fix the problem, there is no other way to fix it. this resolution was either 640 by 4xx or 800 by 600 at the highest (either way still VERY low), im not sure.. but at this resolution again I cannot play medal of honor competetively. The frame rates drop down to unplayable numbers in tight spots (which is constantly).. like when there are several people on the screen firing and your trying to turn around real fast and get someone coming out of a door behind you the game basically freezes and skips and then your dead. It plays very poorly, low frame rates and stutters in more strait forward firefights as well. When good players face off in this game basically each player has a 50/50 chance of winning the fight, on the 700m I can tell you I have less than a 10 percent chance of defeating an evenly matched player assuming I don't some how alter my play style knowing im at a disadvantage by using grenades, which I actually did for a few minutes when I got frustrated.
I'm usually very good at medal of honor and i play on good servers, but I'm not competetive at all on the 700m.. i uninstalled it a month or so ago the next day after installing it.. Now I noticed this thread in which people claimed it, and other similar games, play quite well on the 700m. You won't get a 700m with better specs than mine, it doesn't play well. I'm skepetical of some of the other games people claim they play just fine on the 700m. For instance I don't believe bf1942 and wc3 would be playable at any sort of competative level either, however I havn't tried them even though they are sitting right next to me.. I figured MOHAA was a good enough test and of the 3 games was probably the least taxing on the gfx card.
This is a nice little laptop, but if your considering buying one and plan to do any gaming at all on it, I urge you to stay away from this laptop.
