Radeon 9000 poor performance in Enemy Territory?

Thread Starter
I have a Radeon 9000 on my 600M using the Omega drivers. I realize this is not near the top of the line card out there but I was really disappointed when I installed Enemy Territory and I only get around 4 FPS and sometimes down to 2 in most places of the map! Sometimes it leaps to 40 FPS in certain areas but this is rare. And I have the game set all the way down to 640X480 as well.

Is anyone else running this game on this card? Is this what is to be expected? Or is there any sort of tweaks that I can perform to get a little better than this.
Mabey my hopes are a little too high here but 4 FPS?

yeah you can tweak some of the configs from the ET folder to raise your FPS, but it won't look as pretty. i forgot how to tweak it, but you can go to this forum www.bsdterritory.com/forum and ask the people there. i used to play ET a hell of a lot, and these people were really good.
