Dell Insprion 1100 Dual Monitor (Extended Desktop) Assistance

Greetings,
I am setting up dual monitor (extended desktop) for the analysts in our office. Everyone has been a snap . Desktops got ATI cards added, and laptops simply saw the new monitor and needed a simple "activate" comand in Display Properties/Settings - except (of course) for the bosses Dell Inspiron 1100 . In HIS system, it does NOT show 2 monitors in the Display Properties/Settings. The system uses the Intel 845GL and the only options I can find are Laptop, Monitor, or Both (both being the same desktop displayed on both monitors).
Am I running in circles? IS there the possibility of extended desktop on the Dell Inspiron 1100 / Intel Extreme Graphics 845GL?

Please Clarify and Assist.

WHen i used to dual monitor in Windows i used to use a software called ULtramon.
excellent stuff for dual monitors !
