A Girl and Her Alien (Pictures & Gushing)

Okay, this isn't really any form of review, because I am just too in love right now to write a real review.

I am not the hardcore gamer that some of you are - and I'm not anywhere near as critical of my hardware as some of you - not meaning that as a negative thing toward the criticism, just saying I don't have any reason to be, since I don't tend to run a lot of highly demanding software.

I *am* a gamer, though - right now I'm all sorts of giddy over World of Warcraft, and oh my GOD does it ever look pretty on this computer. I was (barely) running it on an old Dell laptop before, and it was a pretty game even then, but now ... eeeeee. I've got all the graphics options cranked up, and *gorgeous*.

Anyway, it should be pretty clear that really, I just love my alien, and am thus far extremely happy with my purchase. Hopefully it'll continue to run so smoothly and I won't have any problems with her; we'll see.

The only flaw I've noticed is that I do have two dead pixels - although one is dark and one is bright, so only one shows up at a time, so it's sort of like just having one. Both are waaaay over to the right edge of my screen, and I don't ever notice them unless I'm looking for them. So far when playing games I haven't been able to pick them out even when I was looking for them. Anyway, even if Alienware did have a no dead pixel policy, I wouldn't send it back for replacement - I don't notice them, and it's definitely not worth being without my computer over.

So that's my non-review; I don't do benchmarks, so I don't have numbers to give you or anything. I love my alien; that's about all I've got to say about that.

And here are some pictures - I promised some of you pictures of me with my baby, and here you have them. And even one of a cat in the box. ;D

Hah! His eyes aren't normally two colors - they're both green - flashes do odd things to cat eyes.

I have 3 cats, and at one point two of them were in the box at the same time, batting at each other's heads - I wish I'd gotten a picture of that.

Ok, so can you pick which kitten comes with the A51m, or does Alienware just send you a random breed? I just got a damn t-shirt.

What, you didn't configure that section on your order? I specifically requested a domestic longhair, extra whiny. Maybe it was just a limited time promotion ...

Maybe when the T-shirt wears out, I can get a forced upgrade. My luck, the one I want will be "out of stock",

as for the review...great (10/10, cuz i'm glad i'm not the only one who doesn't benchmark and the cat adds that final point )
as for the laptop....glad you enjoyin it (9/10, cuz i'm just biased towards cyborg green)
as for the cat, whats wrong with you people, never taken flash pics of faces before? red-eye is quite common, seems like its a new thing with you folks

Holy Smokes, I had no idea that that thing would be so huuuuuge. That thing is enormous. You look tiny next to it. Any bigger you might me able to live in that thing. Oh that looks so sweetie. Tell me something, have you displayed that thing in public? If so, what were the reactions like?
Thanks for the pictures, they're terrific.

Congratulations on your new... uhh, humongous, towering laptop, that could probably be used as a shield. :-)
