See... where most just focus on the video settings and such, I also concentrate on the windows core system as well... there is always something going on in the background and if you can sniff and disable many of these, you will get a performance bump.

Apply 1 setting at a time and test. This takes a LOT of time. Then set and test, set and test... Patience is key grasshopper... (dammit now I am losing it..

I also spend about 1-2 hours after installing windows applying my little "cocktail" to the system (reg settings, services, startup, indexing, sys restore, auto update, virtual mem, optimize). I have been using xp since RC1 and windoze since 1.0. Please dont ask me to start speaking Mac either.... Im fully bilingual. I would love to see them come out with 3D'05 for Mac tho'... would definately be interesting

I am going to get some arctic silver today and open this baby up and redo some of it so ill be on l8r with more insight.
Give me a break. Disabling a few Windows services isn't going to increase performance that much. More than likely the program is being fooled into thinking it's running faster than it is. Provide some of your "tweaks" so we can see if they really do what you claim.
