8790 heating up at idle.

Hey guys I am new to the forums, I have a 8790 that I just love, just one question, is it normal for it to heat up from 40c to 50c just sitting there doing nothing? At 50c the fans come on and cool it back down to 40c then stops, it takes about a minute to go back up to 50 and the whole process starts over again. Doesn't really bother me but just wanted to know if you folks thought it was normal. Thanks.

yea that's definitly normal. Not sure about the 8790 but my 4060 does the same thing, but a little hotter.

It's normal. If it was a mobile chip with super passive cooling maybe it could be idle and have no fans at all going, but the P4 CPU isn't that cool.
