On the 8790 the control is called: Tapping Control. This disables the touchpas when you are typring; but doesn't turn off the touchpad.

Try adjusting the tapping controls anyway. I too didn't think I was touching the touchpad; however, it solved my problem.

I've had this same problem on my Dell Inspiron 8100. Disabled the touchpad, enabled the touchpad, put the tapping prevention to max, it keeps hapenning. It's extremely annoying, especially when typing papers, as the cursor will skip, highlight part of a sentence, and I end up typing over it. So I guess it's not just a 3790 problem. Hopefully it won't happen anymore when my 9860 comes.

The only problem I have found is that, due to the smaller key size, I often hit the "end" or "home" key on accident.
