Windows 2003 vs. Windows XP

Yeah I was wondering if anyone is succesfully running W2003 on their laptop especially their 4750? You know what kind of software and hardware peripherals you're running and all that?

I had the demo version of 2003 a while back and it was incredibly stable and actually faster than Windows 2000 pro which I'm currently running, and easily faster than Win XP.

People say there are issues with games, well I pretty much only played f1 2002, and Madden on it, and when ever I decide to get my lappy probably will not play much cept for a couple RTSs. The only real problem I had was trying to trasfer songs from my comp to my Sony NetMD,over the USB cable, it seems it wouldnt recognize the driver.

Win2k3 is a server version only. The latest version of the professional non-server version is XP-SP2

Two totally different beast

server OSes can cause some issues with SOME programs. I have Win2k Server on my desky and aside from the fact I don't have an antivirus on it (because server anti-viruses are very $$) and i can't run a few proggies on it i wish i sort of could. But in general most games install and run fine, everyday things get done on it just fine. XP SP2 isn't so bad. Get TweakXP and downgrade the graphics a bit and you'll see a performance boost
