Ok, so I am not your typical Ever Quest nerd. But looking at the Ever Quest II, it looks neat. Witht the specs on my lappy (listed below), do you think I will be able to play it?

You should be fine at medium or high settings

really? I would think it would run choppy or at least not very smooth.

I think the recommended requirements are what I have but I want to make sure it won't be choppy.

Man your set, you wont have a problem at all.

I hope I can play it... my main problem is which game to buy. Ever Quest II or World Of Warcraft... any suggestions or experiences with either?

I am playing in the WoW open beta right now, and it is absolutely amazing. I've never played Everquest, so I don't have any opinion on it, but World of Warcraft .... ooooooooh, so very very good.

I am playing EQ2 and it is a much improved system over the original EQ. I have a crappy pc right now and EQ2 is running fine for me so you should have no problem.

wz077ms... what are your system specs? What settings are you running EQ2 at?

WoW... is it similar to Diablo? Meaning can you upgrade armor, rings, powers?

I guess you could say it's similar to Diablo ... in some ways. Have you played a massively multiplayer rpg before? It's going to have some structural similarities with other rpgs, but the whole basis of it is a different animal than single player games. But you can get tons of kinds of armor, yeah, and different abilities - there's a lot of customization.

I played EQ for about a year back in the day. I was lucky enough to receive the world of warcraft beta account. I have to say, I thought WOW was going to be lame - but it is without a doubt AMAZING. So many little improvement s over EQ it's not even funny. I haven't played EQ II, but looking at the screen shots, it looks kind of dissapointing. Definetly check out WOW.

WoW is pretty cool I'm playing the beta now. But I dont plan on paying $15 a month for it plus the $50 for the game. My brother-in-law has EQ2 and he likes it a lot so its all on personal opinion. I know WoW has PvP and I dont believe EQ2 does.
how much does eq2 cost a month. and wow is $15. thanks

EQ, lol
EQ 2, lolzerz
save your cash.

There are some real good MMO's out there, bothers me though taht everyone is going nuts over EQ2 and WoW when both are mediocre at best.

Have you played both games?

I think I played Star Wars Galaxies for about 15 minutes before I was back at the store returning it. It was TOO big. Its was too much like real life (considering all the jobs you have to do). I think I heard that World of Warcraft is not as customizable as EQ2... I heard that with WoW you can't upgrade armors and and rings and boots and what not... how much is it to play EQ2 online?

Come to think of it, i can't beleive that game makers are actually charging peole for the game and to play every month... if they are going to charge every month, the game itself should be at no cost.
I totally agree turmoil - the game itself should be free.

As for charging people to play, I think it's a new trend we're going to see more and more of. I don't mind paying a few bucks a month for a rock solid game which is maintained by a fleet of 24/7 workers. I think people forget that it takes a whole crew to maintain these online interactive gaming environments. They gotta eat too, ya know

Yeah you have to pay to keep the servers running at opt performance but its not worth the price they are charging. I'm playing the beta but am not even considering get the actual game. FYI EQ2 is also $15 a month.

Man, that is just way to expensive... I don't know though, it might be worth it... Anyone play EQ2 yet? What specs is your system and what settings is EQ2 running at?

I just don't want to have any problems running EQ2 or World Of Warcraft...
