Quality ?

With Voodoo, Hypersonic, and Sager selling systems that originated with Clevo, is it safe to assume that the quality of the end product is similar? The only bad thing I’ve heard about Voodoo and Hypersonic is the price. Is the main difference an expensive paint job? If this is something that has been covered before please point me in the right direction.

I know with Alienware (not positive with Voodoo and Hypersonic, but i think it's the same deal) that since they paint/mod their systems Sager will not let their customers use Sager's tech support, thus making them create their own tech support. Many people have talked about the quality (or lack for that matter) of Alienware's tech support. So basically one of the big differences would be that you can't get the Sager Tech support if something goes wrong or you're just having trouble. And from everything i've read, Sager has very very good tech support.

It has been covered, and is one of those issues that resurfaces often.

That said, yes, the quality of the machines is the same, as they all come from Clevo (and I believe VooDoo and Hypersonic buy from Sager, but I can be mistaken).

Anyway, it's not just the expensive paint job; as VooDoo and Hypersonic (and Alienware) do their own tech support; whereas most Sager resellers (if not all) will refer you to Sager themselves. Sager has a very good support system - although they often have a cheesy "leave a message and we'll call you back" setup. I prefer e-mail, so it's no problem. They usually solve the problem and/or will have it fixed w/o any questions while under warranty.

I cannot speak for AlienWare, Hypersonic, or VooDoo's tech support, as I've never owned their stuff.
