9860 video

I know you can take out the video card in this labtop as I was reading the review from Adam@PCTorque and it says it has a NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 256MB (removable) so I am thinking by that if I buy this I could take out this not so good video card (ATI lover) and put like a X800 XT PCI-E card in there? If anyone could clear this up for me it would be a great help!

I believe that... a mobile card can't really be replaced by a desktop card, what with the dimensions and stuff. I guess that you can upgrade your video card only by buying a new one from Sager. And I believe that the 6800 go isn't half bad, compared to some desktop cards, and is probably the best mobile graphics card now. So there. But that's just my opinion. Godspeed.

Customgamer1, while *perhaps* the 6800 ultra isn't the *best* desktop card.. for us laptop users the 6800 go gives a huge boost in performance. However, if you can't live without an ATI card just wait a few weeks. ATI is releasing there latest mobile card within 1-2 weeks. Course that doesn't mean it will be available straight away

Cool I will have to wait then to see what ATI sends out!

P.S. I think it would be cool to see real full sized desktop card in a labtop... (maybe to invent one lol)

Well... besides the point that you could probably start frying eggs on your laptop... while holding the eggs 20 feet away...

the 6800 go is the most awsomest GPU ever put in a small box, why would you want to use anything else. besides isn't the 6800go suposed to be better than the new ati anyway?

Actually, the M28, like the x800, performs better than the 6800 for most games (from the pre-release benchmarks I saw.)

isn't it a lower clockspeed and less pipelines.
PS I'd wait for the release drivers before I get my hopes up!

As I said, I'm going by the performance I saw in a review.

This one, in fact. In particular:

M28, just like the GeForce 6800 Go, is a 12-pipe version of their desktop high-end X800 part. The GPU will be available in 128-bit and 256-bit versions (up to 256MB of memory), with clock speeds of 400MHz core and with 400MHz GDDR3 memory; ATI is expecting some vendors to actually implement M28 clocked at 450MHz.

don't forget to mention that that anandtech review had the 6800 clocked 75mhz lower than what adam@pctorque and a few other people who already have theirs were able to achieve easily. 275 vs. 350 is big enough that it would have put the geforce in the lead in most of those tests.

Always a good idea to compare 2-3 different reviews for a more well rounded and possibly less biased opnion
