IDG News Service, November 8:
"Gateway also plans to introduce a 14.1-inch widescreen notebook on Thursday. The Gateway M210 weighs 5.24 pounds and is designed for business travelers and students. It will be available November 24 for about $1099, depending on the configuration, the company says."
So I Googled the M210 (also referred to by Gateway as the 3000 series) and found lo and behold -- the user manual at Gateway's support site!!! Anyhow a look inside reveals pics of the notebook itself, and it's connectivity options, albeit no specs breakdown. Here's some of what I noticed:
* hardware volume control :>)
* memory card reader (SD, Memory Stick, and MultiMediaCard)
left side (from front to back):
* type ii pc card slot
* vga port
* fan vent
* modem jack
* kensington lock slot
* 10/100 ethernet
right side (from front to back):
* USB x 3
* "DVD/CD-RW or recordable DVD drive"
* power connector
I'm sure there's more info to glean from the user guide and I would enjoy seeing your observations. A lot of it --like many user guides-- has generic stuff not specific to this model.
I didn't see a clear indication of screen res (one section on ext. monitor support had the incorrect 1024 x 768 shown as example), though I'd assume rather it's WXGA.
I would be most curious to hear from others which models this notebook appears to inherit its design from and of course any sightings of the specs anywhere.
