Keep in mind MXM or whatever it's called is coming out in january. This new, modular format may mean that the chips being put in these December machines won't have upgrades manufactured for that socket. I'm not positive, but it seems like a gamble that the regular PCI-E interface will remain standard in desktop replacements.

MXM is just a specification that notebook ODMs can use to implement modular graphics cards in their PCI-Express notebooks. The notebook ODMs will still have to manufacture those cards to fit their specific notebooks. Some ODMs are smart enough to develope their own specifications for modular graphics without relying on MXM or AXIOM. Once you know what all those buzzwords actually mean, there's no gamble to it.
