For the people who have Hitachi-LG DVD Writer...

May be someone had already posted this already...

I have a Hitachi-LG DVD 4X Wirter on my 9100, couples days ago I went to http://tdb.rpc1.org/, trying to find a RPC1 (Region Free) Firmware, but I didn't find my model. Than I saw LG HL-DT-ST GWA-4040N (GCA-4040N), I decided to give it a try and I downloaded the B107 frimware. After I restart, not only my drive became RPC1, it can also write DVD-R/-RW (at 2X)! Don't know if everybody will work, but at least mine works...

Wow, and I thought this drive was a total dead end. Nothing for it for months.

I don't remember exactly, but it was either C108 or C110.

How do I check the PRC1 or the DVD-R burning ability? for the PRC1 I use the "Drive Region Info" from http://www.visualdomain.net/ and for DVD-R....I just put in a DVD-R disc and check with the burning program.
