Yeah, like the subject line says...

When's the next time the sager will get faster? Or have more memory...faster cd-rw, what have you.

Any ideas from anyone? PCTORQUE especially?

Well, the Hyperthreading is pending the developers. Nobody can guarantee it will work with the current setup, but if it does, I will have the bios flash procedures posted immediately. The next upgrades are up in the air. I would gladly help spread rumors if they were credible, but until thing are confirmed, we can only really wait.

Glad to see that rumors here are only spread if they're credible :-) Unlike all of those other places like alienware where they say they're selling with hyperthreading, lol.

Well...would 3.06 w/o HT be less than an extra 300 bucks from the 2.8?

I don't think Intel makes a 3.06 without HT... so if you bought one, you'd pay for that whether you were going to use it or not. I'd like for that not to be true... anyone know differently?

While on the topic of HT...

http://www17.tomshardware.com/cpu/20021114/index.html is a THG video about the superiority of HT. I know people don't like THG and some people don't like Intel either. So sue me. All I got is a computer worth a nickel.

To skip right to the video...(http://www17.tomshardware.com/cpu/20..._306ht-22.html)

Oh, and I think Alienware is shipping 3.06 w/o HT. What do they plan to do? Offer BIOS upgrades when they figure out how? Is that even possible?

Yeah, it was mentioned in another thread... They say it's possible, and so they get hype and sales, but if it doesn't work, they can just say it doesn't work and forget it. Sager is not doing that because they'd prefer to make it work and then say that they're selling it.
