Obviously the drivers etc will probably get tweaked but all in all a pretty good review.

Very interesting. It seems like the gap is closing. If you buy your rig for doing benchmarks, the M28 seems the way to go. But real world game performance seems less clear cut. The Far Cry test was particularly interesting. Be interesting to see how this develops. The nice thing is that both cards are cranking out really respectable numbers. Competition is good. Nicer still is the upgradability on the 9860.

The benchmarks on the ATI look nice.. But I can't rely on ATI for doing work in Maya or XSI. Hopefully they get their act together with their drivers by the next time I upgrade.

Yeah, I wish. I'd love to go with ATI, but their completely POS linux support has been pissing me off for years. Their hardware is better, but their drivers leave worlds to be desired.

btw dosent ATI have higher standard clock speeds then nvidia cards? i think i heard that somewhere?

ATi has had, this round at least, faster clocked cards that are only marginaly faster (give the massive clock difference) The thing that will be interesting is if nVidia's comeback cards pans out like I want it to, 450/1200 in a freakin laptop (transportable desktop)
