Sager 8.04 display drivers fixed?

Looking here: http://www.sagernotebook.com/pages/n...oductType=3790
I noticed the note about DVD playback being problematic is now gone.
Anyone try these recently after observing nothing in the 'notes' column?

I'd really just like something faster than 8.0 but stable. Mobile Modded Catalyst 4.8 and 4.9 show improvement, but coming up from standby crashes the machine with those drivers, and I need that function for work presentations.(So I don't have to wait for bootup and program load)
4.9 has choppy playback using the hardware overlay, so I'm told, so you have to disable the acceleration in your DVD player software.
Version 4.10 Catalyst refuses to be modded.

Omega drivers are out because they seem to suck more battery. What happens seems to indicate more CPU usage, even when it should be idle. Instead of speed-stepping sitting around 600-800 Mhz(max battery in BIOS), it's at full clock speed about 80% of the time while the desktop sits idle.

Again, the question is wether Sager fixed the DVD playback issue with 8.04.

I'm not sure about the 3790 but for the 8790 it's fixed with a BIOS update. You could email sager directly to get an answer. They always answer my emails within the hour.

Well, I'm stuck with the Omegas. The 8.04 drivers aren't any different, as suspected, and give no real significant performance increase over 8.0.

Omega 2.5.9.0 gave a 3dmark05 of 1441 at 500/290, but I had to use the main clock settings properties to do it. If you set those clock parameters with Radlinker, the benchmark freezes the display. Several games seem to work fine with 526/307, though. Strange.
Movie playback overlay and standby also work fine with these. Speed stepping doesn't work on AC, but it DOES work on battery. So hooray for Omegas!
