Didn't bought my iXPS for its looks... and it is not that ugly once you have it in your hands... but again... function wise....

Other notebooks are nice but show me one that can beat the XPS on engineering to cope with the immense heat and portability even for this big boy....yes yes I caryy this almost everywhere to the university tho I do not use it in class because the battery will be sucked dry but it really is not a hassle to trans port this big boy...or performance!! Seems to me Dell put in some of the choicest components and they gel very well together to get some sweet numbers in benchmarks. When I first started using this I could not get used to the fact that this machine was so darn fast right out of the box!! The performance on this machine is staggering!! There maybe better looking lappies out there...but not as fast as the XPS

Thank you FearNo1,

I feel more.... balanced. Mobile PC spends 3/4 of it's articles talking about everything related to mobility - Here's a helpful article: Billboard ranks Ringtones! Here's another: Behold the flying lawn mower!

Mobile computers? Oh, we review those in our special year in review issue. 'But I'd like to learn how to custom build a moblie PC.' Sorry dude, the next three months we're doing a Blowout on Palm One and The new Dell Axim50. We'll also run down our top 1,000 cell phones, and which one has the best screen resolution for retarded 8-bit gaming! Can you feel the energy?

yes, quite balanced.

I don't know about anybody else, but I love to take my wife's laptop and my laptop out for a spin and show a few people; I lay her's down quietly on the table, and then violently rip mine from the XPS backpack and plant it inches from hers with a rush of wind from lifting the 15.4" WUXGA complete with SKULLZ design and boom "I win!".

bah! Mobility is over-rated. Bring on the Desktop Replacements!!! The tiny laptops are nothing more than paper weights anyway

Seriously, who can't lift 10 Lbs? I can appreciate working engineering miracles by making things smaller and thinner, but inevitably another component must be created to replace the other parts that are too small. FrogPad was created to let people with palms type! Now they're carrying around two small things! Here's a tip: Get a laptop!

Drop the battery or put one in to act as a UPS only, and I'm sure the system could get engineered a bit better. I want a portable system to rival a desktop, mobility I don't care about.

For a laptop, I have a Powerbook. For a portable gaming box, I have a 9100. Works quite well.

To show that I am the Bringer of Balance, this month's Laptop Mag says XPS is one of the best laptops this year. Happy now?
