To answer someone's question, no, I haven't been playing Half Life 2, I'm dead serious. I am questioning what this game has to offer over others. Graphics aren't gonna impress me, I have a GeForce 6800, Far Cry 1.3, Tribes Vengeance, Doom3, and Halo 2. Seriously, what kind of gameplay? It looks like a lot of you are complimenting the games feel, which does make or break a game for me (Doom3's feel is crappy IMO).

I didn`t repeat myself over and over. I was posting about what was going on with trying to get the game to run. Next time I`ll submit what I want to say for your approval first. In the future, please give me a link to your forum rules so I wont offend you, as it seems it is very easy to do.

Dude... Half-Life 2 Kicks A$$... That is all there is to it. This game has whats called a "storyline", some of ya might not be used to that. Turn the difficulty up too a bit.

It does "feel" just like the original half-life which is nice for the transition. The graphics kick arse and run extremely well compared to Doom3. There is a bit of skipping rarely but I have all settings maxxed out too...

im going back to play more.... STOP WHINING. ITS JUST A GAME.

I don't know what the hell people are bitching about. People who think you need to be on-line to play it is just plain freaking dumb! First off you only need an internet connection to preload it. My unlocking took 15 - 20 minutes. If you bought the game on-line you can't refund it. You don't even need to install steam if you bought the DVD. You also don't even friggin even need the DVD/CD in your drive to play either. Learn to install and configure the game before you start whining like a baby.

I am currently dling Half Life 2 and Counter Strike : Source at a rate of 400kbs.

Extremely slow compared the usual 2 - 3mbs i usually get. Also the entire steam network seems to be lagging, i was just playing cs before i started dling it and everyone was having problems on multiple servers.

kj, just think of the millions of people that are flooding steam right now... preloaders, customers, players, etc... there servers are going to be slow for a while i think.

Still unlocking and creating local game cache files. 4 minutes in and half done with DSL line. Told me to go ahead and play while they get back to me on the authentication due to high traffic. Oh, I'll be playin' all right!

They should of rented 10 or so servers for just today or for this week. They knew how many copies were going to be purchase, they know how many people preloaded, they should of prepared better is all im saying.
