Blue looks very nice and crispy to me.. crappy? what the heck they talk about???

After i reformated to install my own XP. i find that the hd total space is only 55gb not 57 or 58 gb since the hd is 7K60.. I know it can't be perfect 60gb but usually lose 2 gb but not 5??? anyone knows? do I need to run DFT from Hitachi?

I ordered mine Sunday the 14th and mine still shows it's in boxing also. It shows an estimated ship date of tomorrow, the 19th and deliver of Nov. 24th-26th.

EDIT: I just called 1-800-WWW-DELL to check the status and my 8600 has shipped out today!!!! Yippeeeee!!!!! Seems as though the online status is a bit behind.

I've called that number too. Mine is still in boxing and supposed to ship tomorrow. They must have lost it somewhere. I ordered before you but yours ships out before mine

Measel, next time you hear your fan running, move your ear close to the vent under the screen. Do you hear any kind of buzzing noise or anything? Anything unusual??

the screw that i used to secure the cdrom in. Then apparently when I tried to take screw out, it ripped the thread hole and stuck inside. So that's impression i got of quality. so I wasn't going to bother with it anymore and sent it back. my belief, get any problem within return period, then it'll be more worse in future.

Mine is the same way. There are a couple of bugs that I have no idea whether or not they are normal. No one else responds to my posts so I take it they dont notice these bugs or they dont have them. Oh well, ill really miss the widescreen :-)

I wondered about that. This is like the 4th Dell laptop i've had problems with. I am somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to computers. Maybe they just dont meet my high standards. I'm really glad they dont blacklist
