File Sharing

Thread Starter
How do I let other people look at my shared folders on a network? I'm running XP Pro on a 5670. People get a box that come up asking for a guest password. I can get into their shared files but they don't know what they did. My guest account is disable I have tried enableing it putting in my guest password, Nothing seams to get it to work.

I know there has to be someone on this board that knows where the (un)checked box is that won't let other poeple see my shared folders on the network.

First, did you actually set a folder or Drive as shared? If not just right click it, and go to "sharing and security"

If you already did that Click start/settings/network commections/Right click you network adapter and select properties. Make sure "File and Printer sharing for microsoft networks" is and there and also make sure TCP/IP's in there. If they're not in there click install and add the proper one.

Let me know if that does/doesn't solve the probelem and if not there's other things you could try.

Hope this helps.
