why did you order so much ram? isnt it kinda overkill.

There is no such thing as overkill. And what you may consider overkill right now will undoubtedly become sub-standard in time.

Given the fact that the RAM I bought is a pretty low price at the moment, it was worthwhile to me. Lowest price on
DealRam for 1GB of that memory is $190. 512MB is $80. (Combine the two and it's $270 - I know it's two sticks of 1GB but humour me for a sec) Considering that 1.5GB was how much extra I got, for just over $300, it was well worth it. Because not only do I not have to install it, but I don't feel at all ripped off. Especially when my other option in computers was an Apple Powerbook 15". The upgrade to 2GB of RAM on that is $1200. The upgrade to 1GB is $400. I think I got a good deal with Sager.

EXACTLY! Especially since I'm going to be gaming and doing video editing on it, I will feel the advantage of the extra RAM from the minute I press the power button.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to the arrival! From reading all the posts on this board I'm really enthusiastic about this computer. I don't think I've ever been as enthusiastic, neither with my Apple or Alienware.

Unfortunately, the computer isn't for me - though I'll get to play with it until Christmas. It's actually a gift for my dad. (And yes, he's the one that'll be doing the gaming and video editing on it...)

Anyways, I'd best be off for now. Catch y'all later!
