XP Pro or XP Home which way to go?

Ok I'll assume that Win2k on my laptop just won't play nice with my hardware so...

Since I won't be setting up a domain or need file encryption or backup/restore (i use ghost) is there any reason to spend the extra money on XP Professional or just go with XP Home?

I seen Home as low as $85.00 online. and pro $150 I'd like to stay under $100.00 unless there's some fascinating reason to go to pro.

For their main differences go HERE
I've been happy with XP Pro since it came out. For a single user surfing the internet and gaming, XP Home would probably be fine.

For a single user surfing the net and playing games, Pro is doing just fine for me ^__^

I dunno, Home just seems slightly weird after I'm used to Pro. Really isn't that large of a difference.

I would go with the Pro version if you have the cash. After having used both versions, I find the Pro version more flexible, plus the security aspects make it a no brainer in these days of hackers, virus and general non-techie users.

I think the main difference is security. I don't think there are any extra features, but I'd still get Pro just to say you have it.

Aw, no system recovery on Home edition? lol, I dunno... I always go for the pro version just because it sounds better. Most of the differences don't really concern me, but security and some of the missing components might make pro better (I don't know if it's worth that much extra money....). Good luck!

I'm pretty sure Home has system restore...just not "Automatic"
