I am not going to wait 10 days for the turbo model.. Has anyone experienced both .11g and .11g turbo?

Yes. It's what I run at home - Sager on g, desktop on turbo.

Not that I have noticed. Of course, my desktop has a really lame antenna, and has never gotten more than 48 Mps anywayy...

Based on my experience, you will only notice the turbo when doing large file transfers over your network (assuming your router is turbo).

Public wifi points are 99% .11b. Regular (non-turbo) .11g has more bandwidth than you can use when downloading from the net. So I just opted for the non-turbo card.

Or... Do what I did...go for an external PCMCIA card. Can't go wrong with my Proxim Orinoco Combo Card!

Yea I got the same thing...

Forget the wireless Turbo card.. if I need the extra speed I'll buy another later.
Tried to call PCtorque but got an answering service and left a VM. Awaiting a callback.

Shouldn't there be a slight (yes I understand its gonna be almost non existant) price drop?

I got a Linksys setup at home and use Wireless-G and have absolutely no problems.

I asked, but it doesn't look like we'll get any price drop because it was a 'free' item in the config.

Eh fine.. Just ship it already!!

Got the email later today about the delay in shipping. I ordered mine last Thursday afternoon and still waiting for it to ship, so I said the heck with waiting another 10 days!! I emailed Luke and told him to switch to a non-turbo card. Hopefully it'll get here before next Wednesday, cause I've gotta go back to work offshore for 2 weeks then.

Funny you mention no additonal price.

If you go to Sager and config a 9860 it will cost you $70 for the wirless at all!

There is only the turbo option.

I just told them to ship the notebook and send the g turbo when their back in stock again..

So the options are?

1. wait 10 extra days for the turbo wireless
2. Skip the turbo and go with normal wireless
3. skip wireless all together and have them ship the turbo seperatly when it gets in?

Hell I'll wait for it to get in and let them ship it to me...
AFTER they ship me my lappy!!! :P *hint* Ship tomorrow!! *hint*

damn...I didn't know that was an option when I spoke to Luke today. I just told him to put the other card in and next day air it to me cause I want it by Thanksgiving.
Is it even an option? I'm assuming the buyer would have to pay for each separate shipping.

Those of you who got the email about the delay...

When did you place your order? I placed mine 11/11/2004 22:26:44 EST and have not received the email you speak of or a ship notification.

I of course would rather get the non-turbo card and have the thing ship ASAP. Waiting sucks!

Interesting. I placed the order for my 9860 on Sunday. Didnt get to talk to Luke to confim the order until Tuesday morning, so my order didnt go in to Sager until yesterday.

So far, no one from PCT has called me or emailed me about the delay in shipping due to the turbo card delay. I paid $120 for overnight shipping on Sunday hoping I'd get it before the end of the week, and looks like I'll be lucky to get it by thanksgiving.

I'll forgo the turbo card too just to get it shipped.
