When did you place your order? I placed mine 11/11/2004 22:26:44 EST and have not received the email you speak of or a ship notification.

I of course would rather get the non-turbo card and have the thing ship ASAP. Waiting sucks!
You placed your order on Nov 11th and you have not heard anything? I was told Tuesday (yesterday) by Luke that current build time was 3 - 4 days.

If you order a default config, I believe they ship a little quicker.

So if you haven't received an email, you might be in luck.

Zoober, what do you mean by "default config"? Mine was 3.6 cpu, 1gb ram, dvd drive and dvd burner, ect....

I only received a confirmation email from Luke. Nothing since.
I just sent him an email asking about the delay. Told him to ship the laptop (that thing looks so sweet) without the card and ship the card later if possible. Waiting to hear back.

My question too...Whats considered a "default" configuration? Just leaving all the dropdown boxes the way they are? Its my understanding that they are built to order and not already "sitting there" in any configuration.

FYI: I too was told 3-4 business days to ship today. I ordered on Monday. Still a very acceptable time period for a custom built laptop I think.

I was speaking with luke in PM and he said he supposed it could be an option.. IF you are tech savy enough to do so. Remember this is an integrated wireless.. not a PCMCIA or something. So it will probably be beyond the non tech geek to install it on the MB

Hehe.. well that's one good thing I've got going for me then... I'm currently using an Inspiron 8100 that I've actually soldered in before... (freak soda incident) I think I can handle putting in a mini-pci card or whatever =)

Eh well turbo or non turbo dosen't really matter to me.. I just want the damn thing now

I'm gonna stick with the non turbo card and hope it ships tomorrow.

I was under the impression that they usually had a load of the most common configs pre-built so that they ship those quickly with minimal changes. But orders that stray from the 'average' config could take a day or two longer to toss in the less popular parts.

I could be wrong of course...

heh, well I asked him, im not even set up for wireless yet.. All I need is the Nic.. So I figured I would probably rather have the turbo even though i have no clue about either...but I wanted what came with the 9860..Luke said he didn't think it would be a problem for them to ship it to me when it became available...I'll probably call him tomorrow just to make sure.. I dont want any delays over the wireless.. if I wait ten days I might as well wait for ATI heh

Well, I got my email this morning. I called Luke and he said to just reply to the email and let them know I would take the regular 11g wireless card. I wonder if they have not started building it yet because of this, or if it is already in the build process?

I'm kinda bummed because I placed the order Sunday with overnight shipping in hopes I'd get it by the end of this week. Luke put the order in on Tuesday and with this wireless delay, it looks like I might be lucky to get it by thanksgiving. I'm off work all week next week too. Was hoping I'd get to play EQ2 for the first time next week.

Figures, everything goes smooth until I order mine
post #33 of 45
Who said it went smooth?
My order went in last friday and I still don't have a "shipped" email.
Appears I wont be getting it this week at all and neither will anyone that ordered this week either
post #34 of 45
I ordered friday, maybe thursday of last week but I didn't send the money till yesterday *cringe* I'm going to drop the turbo but I still don't think I'll manage to get it by the 23rd thats when WoW hits.

That's the whole reason I ordered with PCT in the first place. I was told the estimated ship time was 3 - 4 days. I know that's an estimated time, but I could have went with Hypersonic and gotten it in a little under two weeks and gotten the no dead pixle gaurantee for $99. I decided I'd just take the chance to get it faster.

How long has the build time taken for the people that have already ordered and received thier 9860's?
I'm on the 5th buisness day, with no shipping confermation yet, since I recieved the e-mail that the order had indeed been placed.

Got you beat... 6th business day... not that I'm proud of that or anything.

Remember you get the shipping email from PCTorque.. Not sager.

The laptop has to be built and tested before getting sent to PC Torque whom will then send out the shipping email when THEY ship it.. not when sager ships it to them.

At the moment with the wireless delay.. most likely none have been shipped from sager to PC torque for the past 2-3 days
