For those with audio stuttering problems with HL2

I searched around and downloaded the newest audio drivers Dell has for the SigmaTel audio card. I also found the newest bios (A05) and flashed that along with defragging. It almost cleared it up. I now only get stuttering every 5 minutes or so instead of every minute. No idea what the problem is but Valve is looking into it. Here are the newest audio and Bios files from Dell, for your easy downloading convienience.

I don't get any stuttering (I am still using the old drivers) What are your system specs?

My specs are not the issue, many many people have a sound stuttering problem while playing on ANY system. I was just putting this up to see if maybe he helps some as it helped me.

But because you asked:

P4 3.2
1 Gig Corsair XMS
MR9800 w/ the modified ATI drivers from this forum
60gig 5400 rpm drive
WUXGA screen

*****IMPORTANT PROBLEM SOLVED*****

At least for me...

Hypothesis: Unlocking process corrupted something

Method:
- Uninstaledl Steam
- Cleaned registry w/ ZAP Steam batch program
- Reinstalled Steam
- Reinstalled CS:S - tested w/ no audio hangups
- Reinstalled HL2 - tested w/ no audio hangups

The game still stutters but now it's very very rare. "Loading" moments also go by faster now too.

That seems so unnecessary. I've never had a game lag when trying to access an AUDIO file, give me a break. I hope it doesn't cause me this problem....

What is Zap reg. cleaner?

Silly question perhaps, but how does one clean their registry. Be precise please as I am going to try this later since my hl2 stopped working completely.
