I'm downloading drivers off the sagar site right now, thinking that maybe my drivers are corrupt or something on the CD. I'm not sure, but once I tried installing the video card drivers, all this crazy crap started happening.

This is what caused the windows error in the firs place. >.<
If this was a condition when you posted, it would have been interesting to have "known" the "whole story" when you opened this thread.

I was under the impression it was the hard drive at the time. I didn't really suspect the video card because it didn't do cause any funny imagery except during boot-up. But now it does it while windows is active.

Just mentioned it because the more information presented may make the problem resolution/assistance simplier for all concerned.

Well, I can't boot up anymore, again. The whole screen is filled with random white blotches during boot up, and all text is unreadable. It looks like it goes to the safe mode screen, where it asks me if I want to access it. There's 4 options, non of them I can make out. It doesn't matter which I select, I get the blue screen of death, and the computer restarts, cycling me back.

Now I think the video card is dying. Yay, one problem after the next.

Looks like a video card ? Does the POST or BIOS look funny. If you can get into the BIOS without a problem then just leave there for 15 minutes and see if the problem arises. That will help when you email support or RMA it.

For some reson I can't Edit right now. So I'm sending another post. Can you hook it up to another external CRT or LCD you might have around ?

Well, I had to reinstall windows again to get it working. Everytime I attempt to install the Nvidia Drivers that I got from the CD or the Web, I get a critical error with "NV4mini.sys" and the computer crashes, and reboots. When I get to the desktop I get the message "Windows has just recovered from a serious error...".

The POST is unreadable, but I can still access the BIOS. There are flinkery broken up vertical lines in random spots in the BIOS, but I can still read everything. The Windows Loading screen has similar lines, but when windows finally gets to the desktop everything looks fine again. Only I can't install my drivers without getting a serious error.

I'll try your suggestions and get back to you.

This is a picture of what the screen appears like at the POST. What the normal screen should look like flickers on for a split second when it changes screens. Most of the screen look exactly like this during bootup, only with a slight variation depending on where words should be. If there's supposed to be an actual word, you can tell one's supposed to be there because the white blotches slighty change. The BIOS doesn't look as extremely bad, and windows looks normal (only I can't install my video drivers).

I would email your Reseller Support, Describe the problem and send a link to the picture. It looks a video card or converter board problem. I would do it as soon as possible. I would then call on Monday to make sure they got your email.

It looks like I might be sending the unit back. Well, thanks for your help, it was greatly appreciated.

As it turns out, it wasn't a hardware issue. It was my Nvidia display drivers. After emailing websupport@sager, he told me to try the new display drivers. Of course at first it didn't work. I had to completely format my harddrive, and reinstall windows. Then, I tried the web drivers and majeco! Everything works perfectly!

Those drivers on disk are the devil.

Hmmm. Why are the POST/BIOS graphics messed up. The Nvidia Drivers should only be a problem when Windows starts so that is a new one on me.

Agreed, unless the drivers update the VPU bios as well?

Haven't updated a videobios in ages manually so I hadn't really thought about it, but perhaps VPU makers have integrated the ability to bios update along with drivers.

Just a thought--and it would explain why the driver update might improve post visual problems. It also might explain why a system reinstall might be required.

there must be a new bios as drivers arent loaded during post
