Hey, and that's a Mobile P4 (speed-stepping). So one might actually get *some* power out of it...

Not bad at all. I wonder where the 8500's successor will be? Prescott mobile? Any ideas?

hopefully they will fix the screen burn in problems on the 8500

Theyve burnt their bridges.

Dunno if there are any happy 4100 or 4150 series buyers here, but Dell is close to getting sued by yours truly if they dont refund every penny after sending me 3 replacements all with the same problem after 1 year of use.

Dell has gotten TOO big. They dont NEED to make a quality product anymore.

Sweet now I can get a machine thats totally not as good as the 5670 for more money - but its a dell. DOnt get me wrong I own a dell 5000e and love that machine - but I think somewhere along the way Dell went off track

Yeah, those 5000-series were solid. The Dells I've seen since then have all been much chintzier.

the 5150 is not a bad machine - and with the right combo of rebates it come sin lower than a 5670 with a different set of options (some times) I was thinking about getting one - as I'm not sure I will be able to afford a new sager or alienware soon enough (but I'll have to wait and see of course - soon enough ids subjective for me, i have no explicit deadline).

Darn Fugly though don't you think?
I like the style of my 5670 more than that.
Actually the 5670 is pretty cool looking once you get used to it!

still M9 however....

There hasn't been any recent screen burn issues (UXGA) in Dell's forum for a while now. That problem was attributed to a batch of bad screens.

The hot topic at dell is the 8500's rinky dink keyboard and the confusion over that fix.

BTW... any aprox dates for when the P5 will come out?

I read somewhere that it would be in 2005, but that , of course is not confirmed and the source could have been complete speculation....
