Being a key partner with Clevo, Sager (and other Clevo partners) often have the option to put in requests to improve the specs of a unit that is still in the R&D stage. While these requests are still being implemented and studied by Clevo’s R&D team, the spec sheet of the Unit in design often gets updated and sometimes is released even though the Unit is not final. Sager does not release non-final specs because most of time they have not been thoroughly tested and sometimes are not even beyond the “let’s give it a try” phase.

Again Sager will not release nor announce any new unit specs until the unit has left the R&D stage and has been signed off by the R&D team to start the pilot-run of the unit. In Sager’s view, specs released prior to this point are meaningless as they are still subject to change.

In other words we will have no information until the model is finalized by Clevo's R&D team.

What's with the speccd 333mhz RAM, I thought DDR2 (which is what the Alviso chipset supports, right?) started at 533mhz.

What do you guys think the price is going to be? I'd really like to see something like around $1100 for a barebones laptop of this kind. The 9860 is really expensive, not to mention it has so much crap on it. All I want is a decent processor, a good amount of memory, a decent screen and of course a good graphics chip. No RAID, No multiple optical drives, no tv tuner, No widescreen.

If it's a 5690 replacement, the part I like best is 2.5kg weight (without battery)! That would be great!

That would not be a replacement for a 5690.
1. 5690 is a DTR, this notebook uses a mobil ship, not a desktop chip.
2. Function. I would hope that when Clevo puts up info about a 5690 replacement it would have the swappable 2nd.
3. If anything this model looks to replace the 3790/1280 type of notebooks.
