I know I asked earlier about a gaming revolution, and I got some interesting responses on what was going to be the more interesting game. Now that I've had a chance to play them, as I'm sure we all have by now, I think some things I said need to be re-thought.
First and foremost, that I said this was going to cause a revolution. Sorry, Nothing really new and outstanding that is going to change the way I look at games, besides the fact that I think every game will be ugly and unrefined compared to HALO 2 on xbox. The game play of halo 2 was often thrilling, gave you a sense of power in a way. Admit, the first time you rammed that energy blade down an opponents throat (both in campaign and online) you were thinking it. OH HELL YEAH!

However, due to the fact that they ended up including alot less then they had originally planned, and the ending alone gave the game a little bit of a lacking feel. Like something was missing, but you can't say what. Let's hope that by the time halo 3 comes out, the new xbox is out for one, and that they finally find an ending for the game.
You have to admit though, halo 2's live play is second to none. I've never screamed, swore, yelled "eat it bitch!", meleed, stabbed, shot, sniped, squashed or guarded a flag more then I have in this game. Overall though, I don't get near as into any other game, and the ability to split screen and play live with my brother is cool. (doesn't have a good internet connection, so he bums mine)
Half-Life 2 brought nothing new for me to the table so far. I've not played too far into it yet, but it is a beautifully rendered game. Just wish I wans't having problems loading it on my laptop. My desktop runs it better probably anyway, ati card. I don't, however, think that it is any better or any worse then Doom 3 when it comes to graphics. Both render certain things better then the others. I like the lighting affects are(in my opinion) much better in doom 3, and some of the textures they used. The first time you get into a wide open world with HL 2, you will hope to god that when quake IV comes out, they can render all that beautiful lighting and shadow affects in such a wide open area like that. I think HL 2 has doom 3 beat in animation, the flawless motions of each charracter and the water affects are very good. Overall, a very good game, but I don't think it brought much new to gaming.
H2 and HL2 both have good stories with good twists and turns that keep you wanting to play. HL 2 is only hampered by the loading times. H2 has managed to keep the game going, I lost three hours without even knowing it. They keep it moving very well, non-stop action. The both have excellent physics, though I think HL 2 might have stepped it up a little better with a few more destructable objects in the world causing even more interesting reactions. Nice touch and sometimes makes for some mind boggling encounters.
Overall, I think they were both good games, but for replay ability and just over flat fun, I gotta stick with my original decision. I will stop playinhg HL 2 so I can go play online H2 with my friends and our newly started clan (we are clan poopy, that would be an accurate description of our game play ability)just because it is way more fun. I do, however have a greater respect for HL 2.
Both did feel a bit overblown though, what do you think?

Or how do you know that all people mean graphics when they say a game is realistic?
