My 9200 moved into boxing tonight also. This morning it was in testing, so things are moving along.

And jivey I can't believe you cancelled they could have put that thing back in production at any time. Like andycogbill said, they had till sometime early december to get it to you. I am hoping mine will get here sooner but something tells me, I might be waiting a couple of weeks to get it because it is a new model. But I hope your happy with whatever you buy. I was going to buy a sagar or cyberpower but went with Dell instead.

I am a really patient person, but I also don't like to be jerked around. I got really tired of having to call Dell and do their job for them. I called 5 times for the same problem and still didn't get anything fixed. Dell customer service is not what it use to be. It ticked me off when people that had ordered theirs 2 days ago and it was already in production. Andy, just so you know I never complained to Dell, but was always really polite in telling them what I thought was going on. Guess what, I was right! There was a problem, one that they never fixed.

For the record my 9200 just moved into the Testing phase. Should be here mid- to late next week. I wish it weren't coming so close to finals -- my grades are going to plummet!! I wonder how it'll handle Far Cry... I might have to settle with some dumbed-down graphics since it's only a MR9700.

Anyway, I plan on writing at least a miniature review.

Here is a 3D Demo of the i9200 to hold us over till the real thing comes to the door step. When the page loads, just click on '360°-Demo (Kein Plugin notwendig)' under 'More Information'.

It's always fun to checkout the online service manual too:

you guys are really lucky! I ordered my I9200 on 11/11 and its still in preproduction. I've called about 7 times on this issue and one rep changed my shipping to next day. Anyways, they say taht the 1.8ghz proc is backordered so i'm going to see if they can upgrade my proc. hopefully everything will go through alright

Jeez, it feels like we should have some kind of group party once we finally start getting our 9200's

Hopefully finals week and Thanksgiving will speed up the wait process.

Ok - via the phone system my 9200 went from Build back to Kitting... At least the online order status also says Kitting (previously it just said In Production)... So I'm not exactly sure which way my status is moving -- forward or backward!!!
maybe it's both, depending on which component they are working on or something (i.e. monitor)
It's updated already to TESTING today!!! Has anyone else seen their 9200 go to Boxing or Shipping Prep?

If you read earlier in this thread you'll see that a few of our orders went into 'Boxing' already, and quite quickly (mine was ordered, built and went to 'Boxing' in less than 1 day). My order (as well as many others) has already been in the 'Boxing' stage for several days.

However, if you read on - you'll also find that the 'Boxing' stage will take longer than what one would assume boxing and packaging would take (they aren't really taking that long to box and package your computer).

It has been said that this model is assembled/built in Asia (we see this as Build, Kitting, etc) and sent back to Dell in the US (this process is shown as 'Boxing' on our end) where they package it with accessories and drop ship it from a US hub out to the customer (using the shipping method that they chose). On our end, this is where we finally see the 'Shipped' stage.

Not sure if anyone will know for sure what Dell's procedure is, but this topic was touched on a few times in the Dell forum when people were asking why it took Dell over a week to have their systems 'Boxed'. The lead times for these models are long for a reason, but usually we get them at least a week sooner than what Dell estimates.

Yeah - I saw where people said they went to "Boxing" - but have also seen where people said it went back to InProduction (with nothing checked) so - was just curious what the latest status is for other 9200s.

Mine's still boxing...I'm trying to figure out who the other boxer is

Boxing Stage

Hey there... My dad and I ordered a couple 9200's about a week ago and they are now both in Boking stage also! We got a couple of 1.8 Dothans with the DVD Burner and 7200rpm hard drive at 40% off!

Cant wait to get it! WooHoo!
40% off? I'd love to know how he did that. I'd happily reorder, and reset my ship date for an additional 15% off.

Ordered mine on Nov. 13th. Currently in testing phase. Ship date of Dec. 6th.
Hope it ships earlier.
