Nushield Installed - Page 2

pagedown, please check ur PM
I installed mine two weeks ago. I took off the frame and used a can of air to take out the lint/dust. I used tape to attach it to the edge of the LCD so it wouldn't move. Also, I say yes it's worth it.

How about when your about to close it? Does it look like it's "flexing" out or coming out in the middle?

This would also be good to safe your screen from keyboard marks when you have the notebook closed and on the go.

There's no flexing out when you close the laptop. It's such a snug fit, it doesn't budge at all. yeah you are rigth, it does protect the screen from keyboard imprints. I've seen laptops at work where the lcd has got an imprinted brick effect from the keyboard (obviously when they've pressed against it in transit)

I just placed my order for a nushield thanks to this thread. If anyone else is going to order, use coupon code NCLP10 for 10% off your order.

I just installed Nushield on my i8600. I ordered Nushield before I even received my 8600, which I got on Monday (love it! ). I've got mixed feelings about the Nushield. It was a major pain in my rear end to install. I think it probably took me over an hour and I still notice a few dust particles underneath that I'd like to get out, but I ran out of patience last night. It looks "impressive" to have a shiney screen, but the glare seems a bit annoying already and I've only had it on for a few days. I can pretty much see myself in the screen like a mirror all the time. I can't imagine what'd be like in a well lit room. I remember seeing the first glossy screen laptops in stores and saying to myself, "Wow, that looks awesome!", but I never spent a few hours in front of one before like I have been doing with mine. I dunno. I'll keep it on for a while so I can evaluate it in different conditions, but I can't say I absolutely love it, yet. I'm glad I only paid $15 for it.

Is there a product like this which protects the LCD and does NOT have the shiney reflective quality like Nushield?

It does. I found it to be more of a pain than it's worth. After installation I found the glare to be too much in my normal working environment. The lights are just to bright. At home with the lights out and me gaming my ass off, the screen was amazing looking. It did come off after a few days, but if my XPS was for gaming only, it would have stayed on.

yes, it is glossy philip. very shiny and reflective looking. i'm very satisfied with mine as the many others are here too.

i juz had mine installed, took the frame out, n juz slided the nushield in, im pretty pleased with the result. gives the lcd a more professional look haha.

however somehow the lcd got stained while i was cleaning it wif a microfibre cloth zzz, n tt suxed . luckily it aint visible unless ur real close

the hardest part, is trying to prevent any dirt or dust from settling in, as its VERY visible with the nushield on.

blurblockboy, how do you open the lcd frame? I'm thinking about buying one for my 8600.

Thank you for the reply. I have seen the Hp 15.4 bright view if it looks anything like that then I will be ordering one pretty quick.

Has anyone used a nushield on a display that is already glossy? I'm thinking about getting one to protect the LCD on my 9860. How does an already glossy display look with a nushield?
