I did it! Now on to accessories.... hahahaha
Everyone is so helpful
I just placed my order and I'm feeling giddy and anxious at the same time. Dropping a lot of cash at once always feels surreal doesn't it?
I did financing through the dell preffered customer thingie.. so hopefully that works out okay. Anyone with experience? I'm actually not too sure on how paying that will be... o_O I need to see if they let me have it autocharge since I'm way lazy to manually pay it each month
:3 In the end I did go for the 8600 and i'm pretty sure I wont be disappointed based on everyone's reviews here! Reading the forums boosted my confidence w/their warranty and customer support too.. I know some companies that won't do anything even when you bug them a bajillion times :\
I ordered some ram off of newegg too, so I hope they arrive at roughly the same time, but Dell had free 2 day shipping so I'm pretty sure the lappy will come first ^o^
All in all I paid around just under 1500, including the tax and all that. Free shipping made me smile though :3 I looked into that student discount thing, but a lot of people here mentioned that the discount is nonstackable. I hope I made the right choice with sticking to the -300$ on i8600s. ;\ I think the student discount was only 5-10% or something.
I only went with the 1yr limited warranty and 1yr of complete care. Am I right to assume you can extend your warranty at a different time? I chose to stickwith mail-in service simply because it would be hard to schedule a time where I'd HAVE to be home waiting for the tech. I'd rather just part w/the thing a week or so ;x Lets hope it wont come to that though
Now I move onto obsessing about what kind of accessories to get with it. :x The carrying bags on the Dell website were kind of icky >T Bleego, I'm going to check out those bags to see if any are good for me.
I'm gunna look into:
Mouse, optical/wireless/or otherwise
possibly a keyboard (or is there a way to use the home keyboard when you're using it at home? O_O)
Probably some cabley thingies to hook it up to the TV and whatnot. I dunno what kind of cables I'd need though hah.
=x This laptop makes me want to spend more money! For shame!
Any other nifty things I should have with my lappy? :> I want my first notebook experience to be a wonderful one LOL~
