I was looking to order a 5500 but I just checked it today and it says that it won't friggen ship until JANUARY 17TH!!!!! WTF?????!?!?!??!?! That's total bull. Has anyone heard anything about this or does anyone know if their estimate might be wayyyyy off???

yeah i noticed too. I was planning on placing my order on monday then i saw the january 17th ship date. that's ridiculous! Up to this point I knew it would be take some time but this is too much. They're pretty much saying they don't want my business. oh well...so anyways now that AW shut me down what are some gaming laptop alternatives? Dell? Sager? ?

7700 7700 7700. imho, they might be doing that to try and slow down there holiday busniess. they might be swamped right now and are trying to slow things down. just a busniess decision, they are also offereing a 300 rebate on the aurora desktop, so they might be wanting to push more desktops. i dont know, just a guess.

You guys are so impatient. I realize my new rig probably won't be here until January sometime (even though the ship date listed was Dec 22). I know when I comes it will be tight like a <<insert comment here>>.

It seems like anymore a month or 2 wait is pretty normal for AW. I ordered my area-51m in early october and will be getting it next week so ordering it now and having it in jan. will be just about right for the average wait time. There was someone else on this forum who said that if you want an AW that you should order it at least 6-8 weeks in advance of when you know you're gonna need it.

ahhh...get a sager, better and less wait, less money too, and gee look at that PCIE compliant video card...hmmm 256mb too

I don't consider a 12 lb PC a laptop anymore. Wait times are always synonymous with customized PC's. Like someone said, AW is probably being bogged down by holiday orders. If you wanted one sooner maybe you should've ordered a month ago or during the summer like I did.

Most great gaming laptop companies have a 2 month wait right now. It is the holidays and they told me on the phone they have more orders then ever right now which is understandable. Plus this way it gives you a second christmas in january. The computers In my eyes seem to be worth the wait. Plus who kows maybe things will ease up and you'll get it early or they will offer the 256 mb ATI as an upgrade when you get it.

I have to wait too and it sucks so I hear ya.

Also, my just so you guys know, my Fragbook earliest will come mid-January, more likely Febraury, dont complain. Plus isnt AW offering something like Holiday Rush to get it by Christmas time??

Ok, i think my economics classes are paying off, Those who stated that Alienware is being boggled down is very True, and just as in simple supply and demand- Now especially around christams time, Demand for Tech-Based Products is very high, and how more and more people are learning about Alienware they have increased their prices, for the sake of making money, I will most likely be ordering and Alienware After Christams, probably in January, after the rush, and when prices deflate,-Now dont get me wrong im probably just stating the obvious HA HA but thats my take on it

The Christmas holidays are usually the time when there are the most orders in the year.

Some items may be on "Limited Availability." You may want to try choosing other components if this is the case.

TRY CHOOSING DIFFERENT COMPONENTS? GOOD ANSWER, ONLY, THE CASE IS WHAT IS BACK ORDERED FOR 49 DAYS. SO LETS SEE MAYBE CHOOSE DIFFERENT COMPONENTS. LIKE DELL (SHIP ON NOV 30?) i MEAN I AM STILL GONNA BUY ONE BUT AT LEAST GIVE US A BETTER LINE OF BS.
