ibuypower and AMD 64

I'm planning on getting a Battalion 101 S-Turbo 3 from ibuypower.com and I was curios if anyone knew if their AMD 64 3200 was low power. If not, are any of them Low Power Mobile AMD 64s?

Thanks,
PMan0

Yes it is. I owe one of the ibuypower amd laptops and I love it. Would not trade for any other processor

What is the battery life on one of those S-Turbo's? Also, do they ship with WinXP CDs or Recovery Discs?

my 3200+ is a DTR...or maybe th 62watt mobile....but probably not. i get roughly 2 hours life. i ordered my system no-os. It shipped with a crappy carry bag (buy a new Targus ASAP), the HUGE charger, PowerDVD Pro, Nero Express, FarCry DVD, Drivers/Utilities CD, RJ11 Cable (phone, for dial-up). And a booklet i think.

heads up on the fact that they will take a month to ship your system after you order, so plan accordingly.

to answer your other question. i think that they ship with actualy WinXP CDs if you do order the os (XP or 2k). Uniwill/ American Megatrends just don't do that kind of "recovery" crap, its all basic and down to the point, so you will get a retail XP (or 2k) cd

Great thanks, gonna have to find someone that did order an OS to find the exact answer for that question.

I just ordered a Battalion 101 S-Turbo 3 with the OS yesterday. If it comes in sooner than the 1 month (please let it) that abf mentioned, I'll post back on what disks it comes with.

No, probably Athlon 64 DTR (81.5W) or Mobile Athlon 64 (62W).

Does anyone know a reasonable place to buy a similar laptop with about the same price? I'm looking for the low power mobile AMD 64.

Check out the Ferrari 3200 and 3400. I'm not sure, but do some searching.

Uniwill! buy from Mwave.com or look for 258KA or 258KA0...
Only problem with Mwave is they put DDR2100 and they only have a 5400rpm hdd...
Ive already upgraded my hdd still looking for that ram tho.

Also they seem to only support 1gb of ram but I emailed them and they said 2gb is possible (1gb per slot). They only say that because not many ppl are buying and using 2gb of of ramm, New and Expensive....

BTW i bought mine from MWAVE with a 3200+ (2ghz) 1024 L2 cache, Just after i bought it it seems they switched to AMD64-M processors....
I don't mind, Id rather have the 1024 L2 cache.....

hentai... i concur. I like my Clawhammer with 1024 L2, a newcastle (or whatever its called) is alright, but 512kb L2...idk

i Buypower

I personally did not have any problems with ship time. A a matter of fact I waited only 9 days fro the time i ordered it to the day I got it in my hands, was I lucky? Maybe, however i did not ordered any fancy paint job, so I know that helped a little. Over all i am very satisfied with the system.
