But for Far cry im pretty sure it was overclocked at 344/699 or whatever it was I had it clocked at at the time heh.. I don't run it overclocked..overclocking really is for when you need the extra boost.. Right now it handles everything just fine. God I love this machine..have I said that enough? lol

Oh I was using Fraps... Native is the native screen res of 1600/1050...
If the optimized setting for the card is 300/699, why is it set for 250/600? Any worries about damaging the card by consistently running it at a higher clockspeed than default settings? I don't have the ability to monitor temperature (where I'm at I don't have the ability to download any software). Thanks for all your posts.

Thanks for all the great pics Syn! Especially the side by side documents, you've convinced me that a WSXGA is just perfect for my needs. Thought I'd have to go WUXGA for a while...

I'm leaving the plastic cover on until it starts to peel

I think it takes at least 72 hours before AS5 reaches the sweet spot. I noticed over the last couple of days that my 9860 is not geting as hot. But I really need to watch Mobile Meter for 15 min period when basically in idle and then pushing it.

Flats this is Nvidia's own software that actually tests the card then comes back and tells you the best setting to run it..and thats what it gave me.. Not bad at all. Alot of cards come underclocked though, that isn't abnormal...Someone else here ran the same test and got a clock of 299/699 I believe..so it looks like t his is the optimo setting for this card..

CP Thanks for your instruction on how to install the drivers... They helped alot once I figured out I had to make the copy else where heh

I think all the temps I've give so far may have to be changed. I'll report back later, but that 72 hour AS5 settling seems to be really kicking in now..

Curious Syn, I've been playing EQ2 as well. I've logged in w/o any problems, and I havent changed any setting (computer or game). Now I go to log in today and every time I click "play" on the launcher I start to hear the music then pc freezes/reboots. Curious if you've run into this at all, thanks.

Thanks syn hmm wonder why Nvidia put those options in there then locked them out seems like if they where going to build overclocking software into there drivers the least they would do is turn it on lol.

AL im not bored at all.. I dont play constantly though im a mulit tasking person and the P4 HT is fitting that need very well..

I've got a total of less tha 5 hours in the game since the release day...
Over all, just taking it casually....

Now that I got my desktop rebuilt, I might spend more time in it... But with improvements needed to other project, not really seeing much game time..

Nice system Syn, I had considered getting one a few times, but everything I read says the 915 chipset will not support intels 64 bit processors... So it's on to waiting for hte next major Sager release

Im stepping out of the waiting game..but those that need to go right ahead.. This beast meets and beats what I had hoped for... when the day comes and there is a offering better then this one.. with a major increase in proformance.. i'll sell and buy all over again..providing its a Sager :P

Profiler, are you playing on the laptop(9860) or another system? There is alot of issues with EQ..people with older systems have sound problems, chipset problems..you name it...but its usually when you mix old stuff with the new Nvidia/ATI.. The drivers, all of them have to be up to date..from motherboard to sound card. Let me know what your playing. For starters go to your device manager and disable your sound all together and then try to log in and see if you still get the same problem. I'll try to help you but I need more information

Hi,

I'm playing on my new 9860 , pent 3.4, 1gig ram, nvidia 256 GO, 40g hardrive. I logged on when I first got the 9860 with no problem. But since Friday I keep getting booted at start up after hitting play and I've changed nothing on my end since then. So I'm assuming it's their end but if it was everyone would be down?.? maybe?

Thanks for the link. It's very odd I just logged off after playing an hour or so with no problems at all. It appears to be totally random. Sometimes it freezes up when I hit play and auto reboots my pc. and sometimes it runs fine (again only in the passed 2 days this has occured (last patch). So I guess its just hit or miss

Just to let everyone know. I am running HL2 highest settings on my 9860 and it eats it up. The graphics are beautiful. Really an amazing game visually.
