WiFi on area 51m 7700

What's the brand of the mpci wifi card on the area 51m 7700 ?

I'd prefer buying an external pcmcia card for this, but i'ill buy the audigy 2 zs pcmcia instead of and would know if the mpci card is really good or really poor ?

I'll tell ya, Go with an external card, I have an SMC 2532W, high power card...I bought a nice Cantenna and I and a friend do an ad hoc link that is about 4 miles from my roof to his 3rd floor window...the SMC card is 200 mw a 1/4 watt, most cards are 32 mw, way too low for anything decent...P.S, the SMC is about 50 bux US$

Hmm, the prob is that there's only one pcmcia slot in the system and i really want this sound card

For wifi, i plain to buy a cisco pcmcia, but i don't really know how i'll do since i also have to buy the creative pcmcia sound card

I worked with SMC as the 200 mw card was about to be released. The range is the selling point for that model.

How strong is your signal at 4 miles? Are you plugging in an external antenna?

I finnally decided to buy a pcmcia cisco card.

When i'ill play, i'll use my sb pcmcia card and will connect to my router using an ethernet cable.

I'll use the cisco card when i'll be in the garden.

Thx a lot for your help all, i'm very happy to join u all and i'll join the alienware rank soon with the 7700
