Well, the package Acer put together for their Ferrari 3200/3400 series is by far superior to Intel Centrino in my humble opinion.
yea the acer ferrari 3200 package is great, thats why i chose it anyway

I talked only about the credibility of the site... I'm not saying that this or that notebook is the better, just because everyone needs something different. If not, we would be living in the USSR...

They say that all stories eventually come true at the Inquirer.
Wow, AMD's and Intel's future packages aren't even out yet and already you guys are going at it.

The Inquirer is a site with a mixed reputation, but i must say i do enjoy reading their articles.

As for AMD and Intel's future products, the argument is moot untill they are benched and have run real world applications as well. I'm looking forward to what they both have to offer. So relax guys, you're are cutting into your precious HL2 playing time.

"Game on," said the wiseman. "Game on..."

The fact that your opinion is humble is just about the only truth this holds.

I read exactly the opposite - it is an all-gossip magazine and I am not sure how they have managed to pull the leg of a smart kid like you.
Plus your original post beams with envy towards the Centrino package and its Dothan. If it is so ancient, why are you so happy that AMD have finally decided to go after them? I guess MichaelX is right by saying that you are just trying to justify your purchase - one post from you hails the superior AMD and downs the archaic Dothan and then the next is you being overjoyed that AMD are FOLLOWING in Dothan's footsteps. How come they have decided to do that if the Centrino/Dothan was really ancient as you claim?

Well now, I think the Acer Ferrari 3200/3400 series have a better CPU, chipset and WLAN solution. Hopefully AMD's new package will be even better

Well, I said that only because I'm a fan of competition and Centrino ≠ competition. Don't get me wrong, I still think Centrino represent technology Intel dug up in archaeological excavations from 2001

Yeah, all your well-thought-out arguments really makes me shaking like a leaf. I'm turning pale. My legs are sweating. I am doing everything in my power to remember the advice of my therapist, my parole officer, and my pastor. I am chewing on my toenails

umm... I dont think soo. Centrino are very very very and I mean very powerful. If you bougt a 2.1ghz dothan to a 3200+ Amd 64 they will preform very simialr. Intel has plans to use dual core and that will defialty beat amd. Who cares about 64 so far NOTHING takes advantge of it. I hardly dought amd can come up with something as fast and as quite as the centrino. Just imagine a dual core centrino now that i am putting my 3 grand towards. Its proably going to be a scaled down Amd xp only with a faster bus and calling it mobile Please if Amd could do this then I would be shocked

What is the code-name for the dual-core processor thing coming out in 2006?
